Materials:
A big mixing bowl
Measuring cups
Measuring spoons
Whisk

Ingredients:
1/2 cup of soft unsalted butter
1/2 cup of regular sugar
1 egg
3/4 teaspoon of vanilla extract (A substitute can be maple syrup)
1/4 teaspoon of salt
1/4 teaspoon of baking soda
1/4 teaspoon of baking powder
About 2 cups of all purpose flour

Procedure:
Preheat the oven to 250 degrees

First, cream together the 1/2 cup of butter and 1/2 cup of sugar in a mixing bowl using a whisk.

Then, crack in one whole egg

Add 3/4 teaspoon of vanilla extract, 1/4 teaspoon of salt, 1/4 teaspoon baking powder and soda. Mix up the batter

(This is the tricky part)
Take 1/4 cup of the all purpose flour and add it into the mixture. Then mix the batter. Keep adding 1/4 and keep mixing until you end up with a nice dough. Do NOT add too much flour or your cookies will become crumbly.

Wrap the cookies up in a cling film and put them in the fridge for 3o minutes. (Not optional)

Baking:
Once you take out the cookie dough, roll it out on a well floured surface.
Then use a cookie cutter to cut out shapes from the dough. Make sure to flour the rolling pin and Cookie cutters before proceeding. This recipe is very sticky. Once you've cut out shapes, lay them on a greased cookie sheet and pop it in the oven until the cookies are golden to brown from the bottom. Top them off with icing/frosting or eat them just like that. ENJOY!!!!
