Could detention get any more boring?

If I could snatch that Subway sandwich from Ms. Teresa’s hands, I would.

But sadly, I couldn’t.

She was far stricter than any teacher I have ever met, and it seemed like she was adding saliva as a dressing rather than keeping it in her mouth.

“Uh, are we supposed to just sit here? Isn’t there like, a sheet to fill in or something?” I asked, voicing my thoughts.

Ms. Teresa gave me the look.

The look that if you submit into Google translate, it’d mean ‘if you say another word, I will push you out the window.’

I took that as my cue to shut up and turned back to looking at my oh-so-interesting desk.

From behind me I could hear Victor fiddling about. Deciding that there was nothing else to do in my current situation, I turned to face him.

“Psst,” I hissed at him, he looked up from his notebook and gave me a glare, “how you doing?” I asked, putting on my ‘Joey’ voice.

“Incase you don’t how to read, we’re not supposed to talk here.” He hissed back.

“Who the hell cares? The woman’s half deaf anyway. Worst that could happen, her saliva makes contact with yours, now talk to me.”

Victor rolled his eyes but I knew he was trying not to grin, “That’s pretty gross, thanks. Anyways, I’m still mad at you. I have soccer practice and I don’t like wasting time.” He spat, his expression turning serious again.

Typical.

Every guy with good hair has to know how to play soccer, right? I stared at Vic for a while, taking in his features.

He was average, not very charming yet slightly attractive.

Like I mentioned before, he had pretty good hair. It was a dark brown and it matched his chocolate eyes that resembled mine yet were a little bit livelier.

I wondered what kind of guy he was.

He didn’t seem like a douche, even though he did act like it yesterday. And from what I’ve seen, he wasn’t very popular either. Which is good. Popularity gets to your head. And your downstairs area, if you get what I mean.

“Oh, come on, Victor. You can’t be mad at me. Anyways, I should introduce myself, no? We barely know each other and I don’t like having grudges with people like yourself.”

Victor raised his eyebrow but nodded, signaling me to continue.

“I’m fab but you can call me Dani. I like observing. A lot. Which is why I already know you like art, or that could be due to the fact you’re drawing in a sketchbook. Anyways, I’m into art as well. Not really drawing, I’m more into the musical art. I may seem like a very loud person but I’m a tad quiet and I raise my eyebrows a lot. Oh, and most important, I judge. I judge everything and everyone. I’ve judged you and I’m judging you now,” I said with a wink, “just a heads up.”

Victor took a second or so to take this in and then he broke into a huge smile, “You looked really serious while talking about yourself. Oh and the whole ‘observing’ thing, I’ve observed that you’re quite deep or that could be due to the fact that you frown a lot while talking.”

It was my turn to smile but that quickly disappeared since Ms. Teresa decided it was her turn to speak.

“Well, hi fab. Know who I am? I’m Ms. Teresa and you just earned yourself another detention.” She stated, giving me a sly smile.
