[MOST] Naruto OC's are stupid.
They are [usually] extremely overpowered and take all of the spotlight for themselves. Those OC's who normally spend their lives as couch potato's before being sucked into the Naruto world and can suddenly defeat everyone and is utterly brilliant? I'm talking about them.
The show is called "Naruto" for a reason. It's about freaking Naruto.
Now, not all OC's are like this. Every once in a while I'll come across those fanfics where the OC gets sore and has work for their power. They'll get hurt. Naruto and the others still have their [very important] role to play. Those are the best OC Naruto fanfics.
If you're gonna have an OC in your Naruto fanfic don't overpower them. They're [probably] human too. They can get hurt.
Your OC shouldn't take the entire spotlight from the real characters. Your story can follow them, sure, just don't forget about the other characters in the story.
