I know I shouldn't be out now. I know it but it was him and I couldn't just sit around so I ran. Staff in hand, heading to him. To Glenn. I had to sneak out when Negan mentioned his home was surrounded by Walkers. I took a sharp left down the ally and into the dark streets of this small town. My feet clapped the ground with every careless step I took and no wonder it would have attracted some Walkers. One turned the corner just as I went by. I swung low at it's feet making her hits head smash against the ground. I ran without stopping and finally I reached it. I saw the wall cave in from a watch tower cracking and caving in onto itself. I watched the crowd slowly clear then I took off. I sprinted down the street looking for away to get in besides huge hole that I expected to be flooded. I abruptly stopped and looked up when I heard Glenn's name being called. I stuck my staff into my pant loop tying it off and quickly climbed the notches in the wall.
I leaned over the edge and squinted trying to see anything clearly and that's when I saw Glenn trying to attract the Walkers to him and away from his wife and another girl. His back hit the wall making it shake. I clung as tight as I could to the wall, digging my nails into the wood but I fell straight on my face and my staff fell away from me sticking itself in a Walker. I wiped the grass off of my face and quickly stood. I ripped my staff free and started killing. "Why are you here?" he asked over the noise, his gun being the most of it.
"You." I answered and stabbed two through the head and tackled one with them. "Negan mentioned you were-" I swung up in front of Glenn making him lean back, away from the staff "-in some kind of trouble. I thought I'd help. I mean, after all we've been through." We were doing a fine job at keeping them at bay but Glenn suddenly grabbed my shirt and pulled me down. I held my breath and a gun went off killing them around us. Making them drop like flies. I looked over at him and started laughing. It was inappropriate but I couldn't keep it down no matter how hard I tried.
"We almost died!" I said to him. He ignored me standing up and running to his wife. I was suddenly yanked up a foot off the ground to be only face to face to a man. His build was large and his moustache practically covered his chin.
"Who are you?" he asked squinting at me.
"Lucile..." I answered, slowly looking over at Glenn for help.
"She's a friend." Glenn said to the man. A smile crept on his face and he set me down but his hands still on my shoulders. He leaned down to me and gestured to his hair. He giggled touching my hair and whispered "I'm not the only one anymore." I nervously laughed not being able to tell if he was serious or not.
"You're really weird... But I like you." I backed away with a small smile and started for Glenn.
"We belong together Lucile." his loud voice could have been heard from across the lake. They rushed to have us all in the truck they had but I argued to leave. If Negan finds out that I'm here he'll move up the project and I need more time. I pulled from Glenn's grip trying to climb up the wall but we both fell back as a man pulled the trigger of a gun setting the lake on fire. The flames grew higher and I watched as the man with the gun jumped with sadistic excitement at the lake that now was filling with Walkers.
I know this place is strong and can handle itself but I want to stay. I want to stay so bad but they wont have me because of my brother and his plans. Oh god I wish on the highest star I can fix this.
