A failsafe is a backup plan, plan B, a 'just in case they ask'. We all had ours here with Negan. Especially me with being his 'little sister'. Negan doesn't want me to get attached to the people at Alexandria because I know what's going to happen; Negan's plans for Glenn and his people but it's hard to stay away. They're happy people. Peaceful people and Negan, he wants that but he goes about it the wrong way.
When we get taken or caught by someone who isn't our own then we say just one word.
Hilltop.
It gives us time to run or be rescued and in the end they end up getting hurt. I'm in the front seat of a car next to Rick with Jesus and Daryl in the back. Rick swerves the car slightly and Jesus leans over on Daryl. I smile only because Jesus is awake during all of this. He hit his head and now they're taking us back to Alexandria.
I jumped out and offered to help carry "knocked out" Jesus but they insisted that he was far to heavy for me. I nodded and let the boys be and ran down the small street and came upon a house with the lights still on. I took a deep breath at their door taking in the smells of whatever they were cooking. I knocked once then stepped in flopping down on the couch and laying my staff next to me.
"Glenn." I drew out his name getting his attention from the living room. Maggie walked in with a towel in her hands and a smile on her face. "You cut your hair." I stood up and got a better look at her "It's pretty."
"Thank you. Glenn. He's just getting out of the shower, you're welcome to wait for him." I followed her to the kitchen and sat on a bar stool.
"If you don't mind me askin. What're doin out this late?" Maggie started to fill a couple plates.
"Um. My boyfriend... My friend and I were out and met Rick and Daryl." I laughed nervously "My friend didn't get along with them much and now he's here somewhere in Alexandria." Maggie huffed and smiled slowly going back to her cooking.
Moments later Glenn came into the kitchen with a surprised smiled on his face. Oh god... I smiled back and for a split second my mind flew. I balled my fists on my lap trying to control the images flashing through my head. I furrowed my brows and looked down hoping that if I look back up at him they wouldn't make a comeback. I didn't want Jesus to be right but when he smiles it pulls me in and I wanna-no! I shook my head and cleared my throat.
"You all right Lucy?" Glenn asked from the other side of the table. I swallowed and nodded.
"Uh. Yeah? It's late and I'm tired. I get really weird when I'm tired and I just wanted to see how you were doing?" Maggie and Glenn looked at each other and then back to me. I took that as my queue to leave. "Yeah well. Bye?" I got my staff and left to find Jesus.
