Status Asthamticus •

"What do you mean 'no'?" Liam said to his Alpha. All of the teenagers where shocked with his answer, even Theo.

"Liam, look at her. She's too weak. It will kill her. We don't even know what the mercury's doing to her. We don't even know if it's actually mercury. This can't be the only way to save her life." Scott wanted to save Hayden, he really did, he just didn't know how. And he wasn't going to risk her life, because maybe there was another way that wasn't the bite.

"It saved mine." Liam was getting angrier as time passed, it was a clear effect of the super moon.

"You know, that was different. You were hanging off a ledge."

"You promised her! You said you'd do everything you could."

"Which is why I'm not going to do something I think is going to kill her. There has to be- there has to-" he was having an asthma attack again. That was not possible, he was a werewolf, werewolves don't have asthma attacks.

"Scott." Theo said.

"There's another way to save her."
Hayden started breathing heavily, she was in a lot of pain, and none of them didn't know what to do.

"Guys, I don't know what the statics are for surviving a werewolf bite, but she's definitely not surviving this. We need to do something. Anything." Kelsey was still holding Hayden's hand, she didn't want to let her go. The girl in such a short amount of time became her best friend. And she didn't want to lose her. She wanted to find a way to save her, even if it meant putting her own life in danger.

"Okay. What's that?" Kelsey asked Melissa, she had arrived a few moments ago. Maybe if they couldn't help Hayden in a supernatural way, they should try in a non supernatural way. And Melissa could definitely help them with that.

"It's called chelation therapy. It removes heavy metals from the blood. But, the problem is, is that can injure the kidneys and Hayden only has one to begin with, so-" before she could finish Hayden started crying in pain.

"Hey, you're hurting her." Liam told Melissa grabbing her arm.

"And you're hurting me."

He let go of her arm when he realized what he was doing and said "Sorry."

"Hey, guys. Remember, we're here to save a life. Not kill each other." Theo said.

"It's the full moon. We can feel it even during the day." Scott told him.

"And it's a Supermoon. It's supposed to make you guys like super strong and aggressive, right?" Kelsey asked the Alpha.

With a sigh he answer "Yeah."

"It's not working is it?" Liam asked Melissa. Scott and Theo were planning on looking for the rest of the pack. They needed to stick together, or something could go very wrong.

"She should be showing signs of improvement." Kelsey whispered.

"Hayden?" Melissa asked the chimera.

Hayden was still passed out but she started moving and said "Val. Call Val. My sister, Valerie."

"She's a deputy." Liam told them.

"My sister. I don't want to die without my sister."

"I'll get her." the Alpha said.

"Uh, wait. What are you going to tell her?" Melissa asked his son.

"If I have to I'll tell her everything." and with that he left.

"She's getting worse isn't she?" Kelsey asked the woman.

"Yeah. Which is why we're taking her to the hospital."

"How's that going to help?" Liam wondered.

"We're in an animal clinic and I need equipment designed for humans. I said that we're taking her to the hospital. I didn't say we're going through the front door."

"Over here, yeah." Melissa said when they arrived the hospital. They found an empty room to use for Hayden, one that was very isolated from the others.

"Shouldn't we be talking to one of the doctors?" Liam asked settling Hayden on the operation table.

"I've been wrestling with that for hours. Do we bring them in and watch them treat her as a normal patient, while we stand here knowing that's not going to work? Or do we keep trying everything medically possible to save her, while her body does things that shouldn't be medically possible?"

"Is she dying?" Kelsey asked with tears in her eyes, watching her best friend's body lying there.

"With the amount of mercury in her body right now, she shouldn't even be alive."

"She's gonna be okay. I texted Mason and he's coming. I'll go find Scott. I'll see you later." Liam said grabbing Kelsey's hand for reassurance. He kissed her forehead, gave her a little smile and then he left.

A few moments after Mason arrived, Hayden started to breath heavier, and the machines started beeping.

"I think she's dying, and there's nothing else I can do!" Melissa screamed. And when she said that, the chimera girl gave her last breath.

"She's gone." Kelsey whispered, her eyes full with tears. She couldn't believe it, Hayden was gone. Her best friend was gone. The girl who first talked to her, her first friend on Beacon Hills, was dead. And there was nothing Kelsey could do to bring her back.

After a while, Mason and Kelsey ran to the school to tell Liam the bad news. But when they got there, Kelsey stopped in her tracks. What was in front of her it was something she thought she would never see, Liam was killing Scott.

"Liam! Liam!" Mason started screaming for him to stop, but the beta didn't seem to listen.

"Liam, stop!" Kelsey screamed.
That seemed to get Liam back to reality, because he did stop, and he saw Scott lying on the floor. He then saw his hands, covered in blood, in Scott's blood. And finally he saw Kelsey, the girl was standing a few feet away from him, with her eyes puffy and a shocked expression on her face.

"What did you do?" She said looking at him. But he didn't knew the answer, the supermoon had taken over him, and he couldn't control himself. He just wanted to save Hayden, so Kelsey would be happy.

"Hayden's dead." Mason said.

And that's when Liam understood, Kelsey was crying because of Hayden. But she wasn't shocked because of her, it was because of him. Because he had disappointed her, and not just her, his Alpha was disappointed too.

"I'm sorry Kels, I really am. Let's go get you home." Liam said grabbing her hands. But she was still shocked about her friend's death and what she just saw.

So she gave him a small smile and said "I'll stay here, it's fine. I'll go home with Mason. You go."

"But Kels, really. I'll walk you home so I know you're safe."

"No, it's fine really. I'm going to be fine." She tried to smile a little better this time but it didn't work.
And in that moment Liam realized that he fucked up pretty bad, and that he was going to have to fix it. But he was more than willing to do that.

LAST EPISODE OF 5A FINALLY! So, I wanted to make it super dramatic. That's why I wrote all that when Hayden died.
Even tho I ship Kiam very hard, it was fun to mess up the ship. Kelsey was clearly very disappointed in Liam for what he did. And now he has to get her back (but that's okay bc 5A ends when all the pack fell apart), and that's going to be super cute to write.
