Dick's P.O.V

For the first time in forever, I had passed out, and didn't have a nightmare. That was extremely rare for me. By that I mean, Ever since my parent's death, I've had nightmares every night, until eventually they were forced by Scarecrow. I had almost gotten over my nightmares, but then I was sold, and beaten, and tortured and other horrible things I prefer to NOT talk about.

When I woke up, there was a blinding white light that forced me to shut my eyes again before they could burn my eyeballs out. For a couple of minutes, I thought I was dead.

Did it finally happen? Did death finally claim me? Am I finally at peace?

The muttering voices around the room said otherwise. Which then lead me to an even worse conclusion.

Had I been sold again? What test was I being used for this time? Will I ever escape? Will I ever be left alone in peace?

Will my torture never end?

Deciding to stop thinking about all the pain that will most likely be coming my way, I decided to actually listen to the voices and find out what would be happening to me.

"Will he be alright?" A female voice asked.

"I don't know. I've never dealt with fear toxin b... This is all new to me. Not on...That, but the dose used on ... an alternated one...Have to study it properly, before...Otherwise, he'll..." A male voice replied. I struggled to hear properly from the slight ringing in my ear. I could faintly hear a slight thud.

"Batman!" The same male voice asked, sounding surprised.

"...Is he...?" A gruff voice asked.

"We are... Unsure... He is unstable. Nothing... can do..."
