She would love to spend the rest of the day with George, but she knows that she must get back to Michael's house (she can't yet call it home) before he gets too worried.
She explains this fact to George, who reluctantly lets her go.
"Be safe, Ella."
When she returns to the house, Thomas is outside. He cringes when he sees her.
She's instantly filled with fear.
Hesitantly, she goes up the front porch. The door flies open before she gets the chance to touch the knob.
"Where have you been, baby?"
