"I don't know why the fuck you signed us up for this. A date is supposed to be two people only. Not four." Brian spat, swinging his leather jacket around his body and sliding his arms thru the arm holes.

It was given that he didn't want to go on the double date with Gena and Brennen, but it's how Gena felt most comfortable meeting up with him for the first time. Brian would have to understand that and suck it up like I had to suck it up meeting Naomi.

"Shut up and let's go."

"I'm not going to be happy the entire time I'm there. I want you to know that." He said in a stubborn tone. "Setting one of your best friends up on a date with one of your ex's who happened to get rather fucking fit over a series of years... Got me thinking it's to your benefit." He mumbled.

I assumed he didn't think I'd actually understand what he said, "Excuse me?"

"What." Brian briskly answered, "What?" He questioned.

"To my benefit?" I asked, leaning against the couch's backboard.

He rolled his eyes, heading to the door and opening it, "C'mon. I told my dad we'd pick up Sophia at eleven." He stood at the door, waiting for me to move a muscle.

However, I refused to. I crossed my arms over my chest, and bit my tongue. Oh boy, I wanted to say so many things. How dare he accuse me of hooking Gena and Brennen up so I could get a look at Bren...

"Hurry up, babe." He said in a now placid tone, "We're going to be late."

"Don't go." I simply said, yanking the keys out of his hands then walking out onto the porch.

As I approached the car, I could hear Brian hurrying behind me. "Jackie!" He hollered. "Babe, c'mon. I didn't mea-"

"Look," I pointed at him, "I didn't do this for me. I did this for Gena. I'm satisfied and over fucking joyed with you. I'm happily married to the son-of-a-bitch that you make yourself out to be. So before you open your fucking mouth again, I suggest you look at your finger, my finger and the beautiful daughter we have."

He stood quiet, as if he was just yelled at... Which he was.

"I'm sorry, okay?" He apologized, avoiding eye contact. "Just don't want to start going back to our old ways... The past it the p-"

"Past! It is! Leave it there. I'm married to you Brian, Why would I jump back into the past with Brennen? I literally gave him to Gena who gawked over the mother fucker."

"Stop cussing." He whined "It's only attractive when you curse when we're doing things. Not when we're in a fight."

"Well then stop acting the way you're acting. Are you coming or not?"

He nodded, making sure to carefully remove the keys from my grip.

The entire card ride to the restaurant, we didn't speak and I was sure we wouldn't speak a lot at dinner either.

I was going to try my hardest to not act like a total bitch while in the presence of Gena and Brennen because the last thing I wanted to do was ruin their first date.

As we arrived, Brennen sat at the table, with his hands folded on the flat surface. He saw us and rose to his feet, "Hi!" He said, throwing his arms around me. "You look amazing."

I smiled, "Thank you, so do you! Brennen, this is my husband Brian. Brian this is Brennen, my old friend from New York."

By the look on Brian's face, it was obvious he was very jealous of him, but was in great denial. "Hey man. Nice to finally meet you."
