Pictures in my pocket
Are faded from the washer
I can barely just make out your face
Food you saved for later
In my refrigerator
It's been too long since later never came

I know
One day eventually
Yeah, I know
One day I'll have to let it all go
But I keep it just in case
Yeah, I keep it just in case

In case
You don't find what you're looking for
In case
You're missing what you had before
In case
You change your mind, I'll be waiting here
In case
You just want to come home

Strong enough to leave you
But weak enough to need you
Cared enough to let you walk away
I took that dirty jacket
From the trash right where you left it
'Cause I couldn't stand to see it go to waste

I know
One day eventually
Yeah, I know
One day I'll have to let it all go
But I keep it just in case
Yeah, I keep it just in case

In case
You don't find what you're looking for
In case
You're missing what you had before
In case
You change your mind, I'll be waiting here
In case
You just want to come home
In case

You're looking in that mirror one day
And miss my arms
How they wrapped around your waist
I say that you can love me again
Even if it isn't the case

Ohhh
You don't find what you're looking for
Ohhh
You're missing my love
You don't find what you're looking for
In case
You're missing what you had before
In case
You change your mind, I'll be waiting here
In case
You just want to come home
In case
Yeah, ooooohhh

Today's Thursday, October 23rd. My 18th birthday. I've been basically avoiding Ms. Mills. I stopped coming in early. Just until today. Today's the last day of school for the week. And I have a plan. It's right at 8 o'clock. I walked to Ms. Mills' classroom and walked in. She didn't say anything. "Good morning Ms. Mills." I said, quietly. "Miss Swan." She said, coldly. I frowned as she continued to write on the board, ignoring my presence. This isn't how I planned for this to go... But that's okay. I have a back up plan. I guess I upset her when I stopped coming early. She did stop looking at me and stuff... I sighed and stared at the top of my desk.

I sat in my 3rd class of the day, art, and couldn't focus on my work. I have one class left before I can hopefully go through with my plan. I'm wearing jeans, a navy sweater, black riding boots, and a grey pea coat. This school is fucking freezing. Instead of working on the drawing in front of me, I got out my phone. Ruby had texted me 'happy birthday Chica!' And I smiled before sending a a quick 'thanks'. My parents did presents and stuff this morning. They mostly gave me money. And they also gave me my grandmothers engagement ring. It's a green stone with diamonds on either side of it. It's really pretty. So I have it on my left middle finger. Honestly, I'm nervous as hell about my 'plan'. I'm scared I've waited too long. But hopefully I can pass it off that I've been thinking about her offer this long.

I stared at the clock in the front of my math class and just waited. It's 3:10. The last 5 minutes seem to be the longest 5 minutes of the day. I watched as the clock went from 3:10 to 3:11 and I groaned before rubbing my temple. I cannot stop thinking about Ms. Mills. And it's so wrong because she's my teacher. And I don't know anything about her. But gods do I want to. I want to know every little thing about her. If only she'll let me. She knows a lot about me from the different papers I've written and such. I looked up at the clock and it was only now changing from 3:12 to 3:13. I sighed and grabbed my phone, seeing a text from Ruby. I told her I had a plan for Ms. Mills and we've been talking about it since.
Are you still going through with it?
I rolled my eyes at her lack of belief for me and typed back a simple 'hell yes'. I scrolled through my Twitter until 3:14, then I finally got my bag, my notebook and textbook and stood up. I waited and fucking finally the bell rang. I quickly made my way to my locker, putting my math stuff away and checking myself in the small mirror on my locker door. I don't have any homework, so I only need my bag. I closed my locker and smiled at Ruby before speed walking to Ms. Mills' classroom. I stopped outside and took a deep breath before walking in. "Ms. Mills. Can I talk to you?" I asked, quietly. "Yes close the door." She said, not looking up. The doors lock automatically. I did as told before walking back to her desk. "What do you need?" She asked, quietly. "I... I've been thinking.. And I uh.. It's my 18th birthday today and.." I said, trailing off. "I don't have all day, Emma." She mumbled, not looking up at me. "I... I'm 18 now.." I mumbled. "Yes. And?" She said, looking up. I blushed and got lost in her cocoa eyes. "I... Was thinking about your offer.." I mumbled and looked away. "I... Would like to take you up on that offer... If you'll still have me that is.." I mumbled, my voice small. "R-really?" She asked, looking up at me and her eyes were so revealing. I could see they were full of hope.. And something else I couldn't see. I nodded and looked at her lips. She smiled and reached out, gently taking my hand in hers. I squeezed her hand and she smiled again. "It's not fair you made me wait." She mumbled, her face going hard. But her eyes gave away her playful demeanor. "Punish me." I whispered, not trusting my voice. She leaned in a little closer and bit her lip. "That can be arranged." She whispered. But then she pulled away and closed her eyes. "But not here." She mumbled. "Take me to your house." I said, biting my lip. She stared into my eyes and I could see her eyes change from cocoa to a much darker brown. She nodded and I had to bite back my smile. She immediately began packing her stuff and she looked up at me when she was done. "Do you have a car here?" She asked. I shook my head. "I picked up a ride today." I said, quietly. She nodded and then smiled. "Let's go." She said and moved towards the door. I nodded. She's wearing a tight black pencil skirt, a blue silk blouse and her black stilettos. Then a black coat. We walked out of her classroom and closed the door, then we walked down the hall at a safe distance from each other. There aren't a lot of people out here. It's mostly just teachers. We left the school and walked to the teachers parking lot. We walked towards a black 2015 Benz C300 and she unlocked it. She put her things in the backseat and I got in the passenger seat. She got in the drivers side and turned the car on. "I want to know about you." I mumbled. "What do you mean?" She asked, quietly. I bit my lip. "I mean exactly what I said. I want to know about you. Everything about you. You know everything about me from reading my papers. I don't know anything about you except your name and that you're drop dead gorgeous." I mumbled. I saw her smile from the corner of my eye and I blushed. "I'm 24 years old. My birthday is February 1st. My full name is Regina Maria Mills. I'm half Puerto Rican. My father died when I was 16. My mother and I do not talk. My sister is my mothers best friend practically, so I don't talk to her either. I have developed strong feelings for a beautiful blonde. I believe in love at first sight, while I've never felt it. I went to New York University to study English and writing even though my mother wanted me to be the mayor here. She practically disowned me when I came out at 18. But it didn't bother me at all because, well, I don't need her negativity in my life." She said as she drove to, I'm assuming, her house. "Your mother doesn't support you being..." I said, trailing off because I didn't know how to finish the sentence. "A lesbian. No." She said and reached over, laying her hand on my thigh. I laid my own on top of hers and she flipped her hand over, holding mine in hers. "I get that. I uh.. My ex's dad caught us cuddling and well he beat the shit out of both of us, then kicked her out. We were 15 at the time." I mumbled. "He what?!" She spit, her hand tightening on mine. "I-it was 3 years ago. It's okay." I mumbled. "No. It's not fucking okay. You were 15 years old and being happy! That's not okay!" She shouted. I had tears in my eyes and I felt her squeeze my hand. The next thing I knew, she was squatted beside me and had my cheek cupped in her hands and she said my name, quietly. I was breathing heavy and there were tears streaking my cheeks. Her eyes were glassy. "I... What happened.." I mumbled and stared into her eyes. She bit her lip. "I.. I said that it wasn't okay that your ex's father beat you and then... I don't know. You started shaking and crying and breathing heavily and then, well we got here and I didn't know how to fix it." She said, tears welling up in her eyes. "I.. I didn't know if I could kiss you or hug you or anything. I didn't know-" I cut her off by lurching forward, capturing her lips in mine.

I woke up enveloped in a warm body and I cuddled closer to my source of warmth. "I'm sorry I fell asleep during the movie." I mumbled as I saw the credits rolling. She ran her fingers through my hair and I smiled. "Don't apologize, darling." She said, kissing the top of my head. "I have a present for your birthday." She mumbled. "You didn't have to get me anything.. You didn't even know if I would end up with you." I mumbled. "But I had hope, darling. And hope is much stronger than fear or doubt." She said, softly. I smiled. "I'm glad I chose to take the risk." I mumbled. "Me too." She said, quietly. I smiled and she rubbed my back gently. "Can I tell you something?" I asked, quietly. "Of course, darling." She said almost inaudibly. "When we kissed for the first time this afternoon... I swear I heard our souls whispers 'welcome home'." I mumbled and closed my eyes. She tightened her arms around me and I began getting nervous. "You heard it too?" She whispered and I couldn't help my smile as I buried my face in the crook of her neck. "I'm never letting you go." I whispered and she chuckled. "Good." She mumbled and I held onto her. "Emma, I crave you in the most innocent form. I crave to say goodnight and give you forehead kisses and to say that I adore you when you feel at your worst. I crave you in ways where I just want to be next to you, nothing more or less." She said, quietly. I sat up and stared into her eyes, only seeing the truth and she smiled, tinily. I surged forward and captured her lips in mine. After a few minutes of a makeout session, my hand slid under her shirt and she moaned at the contact. "I need you." I whispered. She nodded and pulled me closer to her. "I need you too. Oh gods I need you too." She mumbled before kissing me again and I couldn't help it as I smiled into it. I knew this was worth the risk.
