Step 1: Help the person sit in a comfortable position and help them take their medication.(When someone has an asthma attack, their muscles in the airways narrow, making it very difficult for them to breathe. It can also be very deadly).
Step 2: Reassure the person. If the attack becomes severe, they don't have their medication, or they don't improve with medication, call 911 or get someone else to do it.
