You were yet to meet the "All Great and Superbly Wonderful" Sherlock Holmes.

And frankly, you didn't get what all that hype was for.

Seriously, who calls themselves a "High-Functioning Sociopath"?

You had heard way too much about him from your friend, Molly Hooper. Molly was definitely infatuated with Sherlock.

On the contrary, you had heard that Holmes could be an extremely arrogant and rude man from Dr John Watson. Though, Molly had said that too, that Sherlock was rude and arrogant.

You were to meet Sherlock at 221B Baker Street tonight, to discuss the murder of your patient.

Your train of thought was interrupted by the voice of your friend and colleague, Bruce. "(Y/N)?"

"Hmm?" You asked, turning around to look at him.

"Uh." He looked down and said, "Sherlock Holmes has an appointment tonight so we have to go visit him right now."

"What?" You asked, shocked.

You had promised to meet your parents in an hour. How could you go to Sherlock's right now?

You huffed out in annoyance,"fine."

Together, you and Bruce got into a cab and reached 221B.

Bruce knocked.

The door opened to reveal a tall man with dark curls, very high and sharp cheekbones and striking blue eyes.
He was clad in a purple shirt

and dress pants.

All in all, he was definitely attractive.

"Hello, Mr Holmes." Bruce greeted, offering his hand for Sherlock to shake.

"Dr Bruce." Sherlock nodded, shaking his hand.

Sherlock, then locked his gaze on you and you suddenly felt uneasy under his watchful gaze.

You forced yourself to act nonchalant and unaffected. "Dr (Y/N) (L/N)" You spoke, offering him your hand to shake.

He shook your hand, "Sherlock Holmes." He said, his eyes boring into yours with a lot of intensity.
You felt exposed under his scrutinising eyes.

You did not like this man, you decided.

"By the looks of it, you are around 25. You feel intimidated by me, I can tell by your pulse. You are also mad at me for some sort of reason. You are really close to your parents, hence the phone cover. You are somewhat self conscious and you also find me somewhat -"

Bruce cleared his throat, cutting of Sherlock's deductions about you. Very slowly, Sherlock let go of your hand.

"Impressive." You said to Sherlock, turning away from him and thanking God for the distraction.

How dare Sherlock Holmes read you like that?

You were a bit self conscious, but no one needed to know that.

You forced yourself to remain calm and composed. You gave a weak smile to Bruce, who had a sympathetic expression on his face.

Sherlock looked at you one last time, and entered his house.

Together, you and Bruce entered. You were still extremely affected by Sherlock Holmes.

The living room was neat but odd. There were bullet holes in the ceiling. You looked at the ceiling curiously, wondering how the hell that happened.

"(Y/N), tell Mr Holmes about your patient." Bruce asked.

"His name was David, 32 years old and from Cheshire. He used to come to me for regular check ups and therapy. He was suffering from severe anxiety and depression. His wife had left him. Actually cheated on him with a lawyer, and.. He lacked people to trust. He was suicidal as well." I told Sherlock. "You don't think it was suicide, do you?"

"No, definitely not suicide." Sherlock said. "Did he have any rivals or enemies?"

"His wife's new husband was a rival. David said that he threatened him some times. A regular, 'I'll beat the hell out of you' or 'I'll break your face.'"

Sherlock seemed to be in deep thought and suddenly he got up. "It's his wife. She killed him." Sherlock clapped his hands.
"Thank you, Dr (Y/N)."

You smiled at Sherlock.

"Uh, Bruce? I need to make a call. I'll meet you outside." You said, getting out of the house.

You dialled your mom's number. "Hi mum."

"Hey sweetie."

"Mom I'm so sorry I won't be able to meet you guys today."

"Awh. It's alright sweetie. Don't worry about us." Your mom replied, a hint of disappointment in her voice. You got sad.

"I love you both."
"We love you too, (nickname). Be careful." She replied.

"I will." You replied, hanging up.

You sighed, and turned around only to be greeted by Sherlock Holmes.

You crossed your arms angrily and looked at him with raised eyebrows.

"No wonder you're mad. You were supposed to meet your parents."

"Yeah. Great deducing skills you have." You muttered.

"Are you angry at how I called you self-conscious?"

"Excuse me? I have better things in life to worry about than what you deduce about me."

He grabbed your hand, walking closer to you.

You stared up at him in shock, "What are you do-"

"Your heart rate shows that I have an effect on you. And so do your eyes. Your pupils are dilated. So of course, my deductions affected you." He spoke, his eyes locked on yours.

He was standing way too close to you.

You could feel his breath all over your face.

You turned away from him. "Let go, Mr Holmes." You said, your voice weak from the close proximity.

"Does this affect you so much?" He asked.

You glared at him. "Let go." You repeated, this time angrily and with a lot of confidence.

He may be attractive, and be Sherlock Holmes, but he had no right to make you feel like a tiny girl.

He let go of your hand and you were about to walk away but his voice forced you to stop.

"You don't need to be self conscious, Miss (Y/L/N). You are a beautiful lady. You're a mystery, and I love mysteries." His voice was sincere, very much unlike the Sherlock Holmes you had encountered in the past hour.

You turned around to see a ghost of a smile on his face.

"Was that a compliment I just heard?" You asked, shocked.

"Very much indeed."

A light blush coated your cheeks as you smiled at Sherlock.

"This look suits you." He added.

"I'm flattered." You give him a small smile.

Bruce came out and looked between the two of you. "(Y/N). We're going back."

"Alright. Let's go." You agreed.

You turned to Sherlock. "Bye, Mr Holmes."

He kissed your hand. "I hope to meet you again."

"You probably will." You whispered, a soft smile on your face.

Sherlock gave you an actual smile at that.

Maybe, just maybe, Sherlock wasn't that bad.
