So, I guess my mom thinks that I like Twilight because I read the first book. I guess I have no excuse NOT to read the rest of the series.
But this chapter has to actually go somewhere so.... ALLONSY!
So someone, who whishes to remain unnamed, PMed me this: "Hai, so I'm a twihard and a potterhead. I think Twilight has a really bad rep for 'copying everything' mostly Harry Potter. I am not going to be stupid and say, 'NO. JK ROWLIMG COPIED STEPHENIE MEYER" because that's just not the case. I think Steph was just a huge fan and was inspired by Harry Potter. I mean, look at all of us fanfic writers. Or even if we don't write fanfic and we just write original stories. We have all based a character in our books from a character in one of our fave book series, TV shows, movies and all that kind of stuff. Don't deny it. I love Twilight and Harry Potter equally and they should be treated equally. The only thing I absolutely hate about these book series are the fan bases. Im all for enthusiastic fans, but how enthusiastic can you be before its TOO much? Fans insulting other fans left and right between fandoms and it disappoints me to no end. You guys know how you feel when you get bullied? Well guess how the person you just insulted is feeling? And what hurts me is that its mainly potterheads that are doing this to Twihards. Didnt Harry Potter teach us love? While some of you know why I decided to keep my identity private, others might be wondering why I did. I asked fandomgeneration to do so because I know how much hate I'll receive once this chapter is posted. I mean, just look at when fandomgeneration defended Twilight in its chapter comparing it to Romeo and Juliet. Sure, it didnt get hate but people still said "It doesn't deserve the point!" And all that stuff. I love the books movies and Stephenie and JK. But that doesnt mean I have to love the fandoms themselves. Thank you for listening."
The person that messaged me is smart. That person is also very right. I am also extremely disappointed in the Harry Potter fandom. Now, I'm not going to say that I have never hated on a Twihard before because that would be false. Did I tell the Twihard to go kill themselves? No. Us fanpeople need to calm down. Does that mean that im going to stop this book? No. Why? Because this book contains my opinions and I'm not going to stop expressing my thoughts and feelings.
