Jen's Point of View

After the visit to the vet, I decide to go grocery shopping and get some food for Pinecone too. I don't know why Lilly decided to name the kitten Pinecone, but as long as she's happy, I don't mind. I look at them in the back seat.

Pinecone is sleeping on Lilly's lap. Lilly is gently stroking Pinecone's back with her tiny fingers as she looks down at her. I smile at this sight. They are so cute together. I can tell they are going to be best friends for a long time.

"Mommy? Where are we goin' now?" Lilly asks. "To the supermarket. We are going to get some food for us and the cat some food. She nods and looks out of the window. When we arrive at the supermarket, I get out of the car and help Lilly out of her car seat. I get a shopping cart from the parking lot and put Lilly and Pinecone inside.

I push the shopping cart into the supermarket. "Mommy, what we getten'?" Lilly asks. "A few things: milk, cereal, bread, yogurt, fruits, vegetables, cat food, pancakes, and some other stuff that I can't think of off the top of my head." I tell her.

"What about chicken nuggets?" I roll my eyes playfully. This girl and her chicken nuggets.  I doubt she'll ever get tired of eating them. "Okay, I guess we can get chicken nuggets too." Lilly giggles and claps her hands. I smile. She is just too cute!

Lilly's Point of View

I start to get a little bit bored as mommy shops. The only thing on my mind is chicken nuggets. I want to get them. Now. I look at mommy, who is looking at food on the shelves. I dig around in the shopping cart and pull out this big, heavy sack of stuff called cat litter.

I manage to push it out of the cart and onto the floor, despite how heavy it is. I gather up my courage and climb out of the cart, falling flat on my butt, the cat litter cushioning my fall. I giggle quietly and with a lot of difficulty, I put the cat litter back into the cart and walk down the aisle.

Where are the chicken nuggets? I ask myself in my head as I look up and down the shelves finding none. I continue to look until something catches my eye. I turn to see a box of Lucky Charms and there's only one left! Mommy said we needed cereal and Lucky Charms are my favoritest!

"Lucky Chawms!" I squeal as I grab the box. Another pair of hands grab ahold of the box at the same time as I do. I look up. A boy, taller than me with light brown hair and dark brown eyes looks down at me. We both start to pull on the box.

"H-Hey, it's mine!" I tell him. "No, it's mine!" He argues. We both pull on it like we're playing a game of tug-of-war. "I got it first!" We yell at the same time. "Let go!" Suddenly, the boy lets go of the box and since I'm pulling back, I fall back and hit my head hard. It hurts a lot. I start to cry.

"Lilly!" I hear mommy call me as she walks to me. I stretch out my arms to her. "Mommy!" I wail. She picks me up and holds me close. "Are you okay? Where does it hurt?"

"M-M-My head!" I cry more as I hold it. She moves my hand and kisses my head where it hurts. "It's okay, baby girl. You're okay. Shh." She whispers as she rocks me back and forth.

"Mason!" I hear a female voice yell. I turn my head slightly to see a a pretty lady walking towards the boy. The boy tells the woman, who I think is his mommy what happened. She gives him a stern look. "Mason, I am surprised at you! You don't do that! She could have gotten hurt!" She scolds. So, his name is Mason.

Mason looks down, embarrassed. The lady walks over to mommy and me. "I'm so sorry about my son's behavior. He's a really great kid. I hope your daughter isn't hurt or anything." The lady says to mommy. I wipe my eyes as I'm still crying.
