Me and Shawn go downstairs and see that his parents got home. My mom and dad are talking to them. Me and Shawn set the table then sit next to each other.
"Oh hey sweetie." My mom smile artificially. I take Shawns hand and roll my eyes at her,
"Hi mom." I hiss with a superficial smile. My mom glares and sits down next to Mrs. Mendes. Aaliyah sits next to me, Jeremy across and my dad next to Mr.Mendes.
"Thank you for inviting me into your lovely home." My mom says continuing with her fake smile.
"Oh no problem." Mrs.Mendes says
"The reason I wanted to talk was well about Leah and Shawn." I look at her shooting daggers
"Oh yes, they are inseparable." Mrs.Mendes says
"Well that's thing.. I believe that since they started dating she's gotten almost--" I interrupt her
"Confident? Smarter? Maybe even more human?" I say
"No, just you keep sneaking out, I can't have that! It's dangerous out there!" My mom says

"Fine." I don't really touch the food. I wasn't hungry. My mom drags me home mumbling curse words. She finally gets home and slams the door
"Leah Smith! What was that!" She yells and slaps me. I hit back punching her hard in the nose
"I said don't touch me. I will fire back." I say walking upstairs slamming the door harshly behind me. A tear runs down my cheek has I lock my door. I grab my phone. I see a text from Shawn
Shawn: Leah, are you ok?
Leah: Yeah I'm fine. She tried hitting me again. I punched her, hard.

I turn my alarm clock off. I close my eyes and fall asleep in about 5 minutes. I wake up to a loud clap. It's thunder and lightning. I grab my phone

I unlock my door. He already here. I begin hyperventilating due to fear. My little sister when she was 3 was killed by a strike of lightning. I watched it happen, when I was 8 years old.

) I lace up my converse and the. I throw my hair up. I walk over to Shawn who is still sleeping on my bed. Gently I kiss his forehead. I walk down stairs where Jeremy is making bacon. I grab two muffins and go back to my room. I lock my door.
"Shawn, get up." He doesn't. I jump across his his stomach "Shawnnn." I whisper yell then I get a water bottle "Don't make me do this." I say opening the bottle. I take a sip and slowly start dripping it on his face. He doesn't reply. I pour it all on him. He shoots up
"Leah!!" He says and grabs my waist and looks at me. His lips push against mine. I feel his lip ring against my lips. I put my arms around his neck. I pull away
"Shawn my parents wake up in 3 minutes you should probably go." I say quietly
"Yeah, see you later. I love you." I smile at him
"I love you more." He smiles.
He goes out my balcony jumping down running to his house. I watch him from the balcony. I shut my balcony. I go down stairs. My parents made it down before me. They all look at me.
"What?" I ask glaring.
"Nothing.." My mom says
"If you want an apology you can say sorry to me first because I hit you once and you hit me hundreds of times!" I say.
"Well guess what your the kid! Not me." She says
"Yeah real fucking mature." I say
"I got you a restraining order against Shawn." I look at her
"W-what?" I say with tears filling my eyes
"Yeah. If he comes within twenty feet of you I can have him arrested." She says
"You fucking bitch! I love him! He's the only person that understands.." I start to cry. I hate this, I hate the feeling of him not seeing me
"Well you shouldn't have disobeyed and you wouldn't be here." She says
"I fucking hate this family." My dad sits in silence
"Why me!?" Jeremy yells

"It was his idea." I look at him. I take the restraining order out of her hands and run. I run to the police station "I need to have this cancelled now, I'm also being abused. So is my brother. Last night she hit me and I struck back because she hits me everyday." I say as I stand in front of a lady
"Ok sweetie come back here and let's talk with the sheriff." She says leading me down a hall to a door. I step in to the room. It's an office. Manny, Shawns dad sits infront of me.
"Ms. Smith," he says "Come in.." I walk in "sit down and explain everything"
"Well my mom started abusing me 3 years ago when I got an C- then she just didn't stop. Last night I got home from your house and she hit me again. I was r-really s-sick if it so I hit back." I take a breath "and this morning she placed a restraining order against Shawn, so I can't be around him and I wanted to cancel it." I finish
"Ok I'll cancel it now." He types stuff in his laptop "All good, now I'm need to see another bruise." I stand up and show him the ones on my ribs.
"Is that enough?" I say quietly
"Yes Leah, I'll have the secretary call your parents to come down here. Is that alright?" I nod my head and he has them come down. They get here in 15 minutes
"Leah we were so worried." My mom says trying to hug me
"Mom I told them. Everything." Shawn hurts through the doors
"Arrest him! He can't be within 20 feet of her!" My mom yells
"I got it canceled." I hug Shawn tight. He hugs me
"Please tell me your alright. Please tell me your staying here.." He says
"Yeah, I'll probably move in with my aunt who lives across town." My mom gets dragged into priesting and then they have me and Shawn go back because he's seen her hit me.
"It was the other day. We were going to school and her mom came out and started yelling about something then hit her." Shawn says truthfully.
"Ok Leah, you'll be moving in with your Aunt Freya." Mr.Mendes says
"I'll go home and pack." I say
"Oh no once you step out of this place a restraining order against your mom will be placed. We decided Jeremy will be able to move in by himself." He says
"Oh, ok.." I say grabbing my bag. I've only heard of my Aunt never met her. She has a daughter that goes to my school, we've never spoke from my knowledge.
"Ok do movers and Shawn can help you." He says
