Kate's Rock (Steve Rogers Love Story)

Chapter 9: Love

Kate's POV

As I was just finishing up I saw Steve outside the window on his way up. I quickly looked around making sure everything was in its place. From the perfect dim lighting to the cute little candle on the dinning table. I also put a red table cloth on top of the table along with some plates and silverware. In the center was a candle that smelt like roses along with a small vase of flowers. I decided that I would have a nice dinner with him and maybe watch a movie or something after. I made some chicken Alfredo for dinner. Of course you all know I'm a terrible cook so let's just say this took me an extremely long time to figure out. When I decided that everything looked perfect I realized I was a mess. I ran as fast as I could to my bedroom and grabbed a simple but elegant red dress from my closet. It was one of the few dresses that I actually liked. I also put my hair up in a cute bun along with a rose flower pin. I hope that he likes this and doesn't find this extremely weird. I mean I really like him and I appreciate everything he has done for me therefore he deserves a nice night. That's when I heard the door open. I slowly walked outta the bedroom to see him down the hallway. He looked shocked. Either that's a terrible thing or that is a good thing. I hate to admit it but he looked amazing even in his work suit. Sure his face and hands were a bit dirty but he was perfect. I was standing there silent waiting for his reaction but he never said anything just stood there looking shocked and confused. God I screwed up didn't I? I shouldn't have done this.

"I just thought that you deserved a peaceful night and a good meal because you have done so much for me that I wanted to do something for you in return." ~Kate

He smiled looking straight into my eyes walking closer to me. Once he was a few feet from me he pulled me forward. At this time we had no space in between us. He looked down into my eyes with his big blue ones making my heart melt. Did he understand just how amazing he was?

"This is perfect. Everything is beautiful especially you. Thank you so much." ~Steve

I couldn't help but blush a deep red hopefully he didn't notice. Of course knowing Steve, he immediately saw the blush. He began to giggle a bit. Then he gently placed a hand on my cheek. I tried to look away but he had forced me to look into his eyes. Then he pulled me into a soft gentle hug. I felt my heart begin to pound. Was I sweating? Oh god now my body is shaking.

"You know I can feel you shaking. And I can feel your heart beating." ~Steve

"I'm....I'm....I'm so sorry...." ~Kate

He smiled that sweet gentle smile and gently pulled away. Not far away just enough to see my face. Then he did something I wouldn't ever think he would do. He slowly kissed me with his hand on my cheek. It felt absolutely amazing. His lips fit against mine perfectly. I couldn't help but blush even more than before. I of course kissed back and wrapped my arms around his neck gently. He smiled when I did this which made my heart skip. Before we could continue he pulled away. I will admit I was a bit upset that he pulled away. I looked up at him lost for words.

Steve's POV

I looked down at her. She was perfect. Her kiss was so fragile. Her lips tasted like strawberry which was beyond perfect. I wanted to continue so badly but I couldn't. I wanted to know if she loved me as much as I loved her. I was going to tell her. As her big eyes stared up into mine I felt my heart race.

"Kate.... I think I may be.... I may.... I think I love you..." ~Steve

The second these words came out of my lips she jumped up and hugged me tightly. Then she kissed me again. This time a bit more passionately. I was shocked. I thought she would freak out and be weirded out. She pulled away and looked up into my eyes.

"I love you too Steve..... Always have...." ~Kate

These words put me into shock. I hugged her and kissed her back roughly. Let's just say it was one of the most magical nights I've ever had.
