Very close but also very distant,
Often that is how it frequently seems;
Past bridges built are just reminiscent,
Future ones meandering drafts of dreams;
Hope and faith shine like cascading bright lights,
God's love is forever safely secure;
It pierces pain and treachery with might,
Our warm eternity He does procure;
Our world cannot compare to such great bliss,
But we give trust and love the best we can,
Tentatively giving our heart and hands,
Knowing quickly can come Judas' kiss;
Love can and will bear; believing all things.
Love can and will hope; enduring all things.
