Chapter Four

Ford's POV
For the rest of the ride back to the house the car was quiet except for gurgles, tweets, and baby talk.

Why did you do this!? I asked myself. Well if I hadn't they would have been crying for the rest of the day.

Lana and Timothy were going to kill me. At least the kids were happy though.

As I neared I saw smoke clouding the already dark sky. I pulled into the neighborhood and made a left turn then another left. What I saw made me gasp. Two firetrucks and an ambulance surrounded my sibling's house and flames consumed the house completely. I parked by one of the firetrucks. The ambulance doors opened and a stretcher with a blanket over something was loaded into it. More firemen left the burning house.

They were carrying something in there arms. It looked almost like... Oh Gods...

Dipper and Mabel tears started back up.

Timothy... Lana... No!! I ran out of the car to one of the firemen.

"W-what happened?" My voice broke.

"Sorry but you can't be here." He replied.

"Those burnt bodies were my brother and sister-in-law! And if you don't tell me what happened..!" I let that threat hang in the air and glared at him.

"There's not anything to say! The house was set on fire and they died! That's all we know so far. We don't know how the fire started yet." He replied.

My hand flew to my mouth and I walked to the car slowly. Why!? Why did things like this have to happen..?

I climbed back into the drivers seat. I glanced back at Dipper and Mabel. It was then when I realized that if I hadn't been out with them they probably would've been dead too.

Another realization hit me like a punch in the gut from a pro wrestler.

Wha- what if the fire wasn't an accident?

Bill had mentioned some sort of war going on in his dimension. What if the fire was caused by one of Bill's enemies? Someone knew about Dipper. And they knew what he was.

They must another demon trying to get revenge on Bill.

I looked at Dipper again. He was happily oblivious to the fact that someone was trying to kill him.

I pulled out of the driveway and had one destination set in mind. Gravity Falls. I had to get Dipper and Mabel out of here.
