Finally

Lucy's POV-

"I know, Natsu," I said, trying not to cry as I saw him struggle to tell me he couldn't defeat them for once. The once strong and forceful eyes he had were completely in shambles, trembling to find light once again. At that instant, we were now just looking at each other with tears forming. I knew what I needed to do, and copying Natsu's actions, I began to lean closer. Both an inch apart, we looked at each other, reassuring one another, but before I could agree he forcefully kissed me. That longing feeling from before came full force into that kiss which we both had been waiting a long time to do. His lips weren't rough but soft and warm which could have made me melt to his feet but I knew he wouldn't allow that with his hand still in my hand and the other cupping my face.

Natsu's POV -

I didn't want to be rough with Lucy, being our first kiss for the both of us, but that longing feeling inside me took full force and I couldn't help it. Lucy didn't seem to mind it since she practically did the same as I did. When it was time to part, I squeezed her hand lightly and kissed the top of her forehead. She closed her eyes, and I sat my chin on her forehead. Happy's eyes looked like they were about to pop out of his head when he said, "AWWWWW YOU GUYS LOOOOVVVEEE EACH OTHER". "You know, what little buddy? You are right," I said, looking Lucy in the eyes. "Lucy Heartfillia, I love you, and always have ever since the first day I ever met you in Hargeon, well I might not have realized it then, but I definitely could tell you were special. From each day that passed, it wasn't the amount of time that I counted but the memories we shared together. Each mission we went on, each battle we fought and won, only made us closer comrades. But you weren't only my comrade, you were my best friend that I could always count on. Those feelings only got stronger and pushed threw my dense mind. Every thing about you I love, and I can't get enough of it." I had finally told the girl of my dreams the words I've been wanting to tell her for what seems like forever. Letting out a little sigh at the reaction yet to come. Having all my worries rush out of me at once I see Lucy smile and begin to say, "I love...".
