Following breakfast, Angel and Noah announced that they were going to go on a small hike and that they would be back by midday. Ami reminded Noah to be careful with his week ankle and made him bring his cane along. He didn't complain because he knew it would make it a lot easier for him.

"So what were you and Bear talking about earlier?" Angel asked Noah as they walked through the woods.

"Nothing. It's nothing important," he told her.

"Oh come on. It has to be important if you're hiding it from me," she said, raising her eyebrows at him.

"No, I can assure you it's nothing."

She rolled her eyes and stepped in front of him, making him stop walking. She stood with her hands on her hips.

"What were you talking about?"

He couldn't help but smirk. She was determined to get the answer out of him. But his lips were sealed.

"I'm sure you'll find out eventually," is all he said before he stepped around her and continued walking.

"Wait! So that means you two were talking about me!" she called after him.

He could hear the leaves crunching behind him as she ran to catch up with him.

"Maybe...maybe not."

"Ugh you are so frustrating!" she groaned.

He didn't say anything and let her walk ahead of him to lead the way. They spoke about general things on the way there and it was an hour later when they came to a spot that opened up to a small patch of sand by the water.

"Here we are," she said, walking a bit further.

She stopped near a tree, blocking Noah's view. He came to stand beside her and saw what couldn't be mistaken as anything other than a grave site. A cross, made with sticks and vines stood up from the ground. The dirt around the area was slightly darker. He watched as Angel leaned forward and stroked her hand over the cross. She sat down and just looked at the area.

"I miss him so much," she nearly whispered.

"He may not be here physically, but he's here spiritually. He and your parents are watching over you," Noah spoke.

She made no response. Noah stood there with her in silence, just allowing her to visit with her brother. But when he heard whimpering, he looked down at her. Angel's head was in her hand and she was clearly crying. He kneeled down next to her and wrapped his arms around her. She allowed him to comfort her for a few minutes until she pushed him away.

She stood up and wiped her eyes. Noah stood up along with her, watching her.

"Why don't you tell me about him?" he suggested.

She took a deep breath. "He was only seventeen. He was liked by nearly everyone in school. The dream he always had was to go into the Coast Guard. He wanted to be a rescue swimmer. He would've been great at it because he was a champion swimmer at school. But now...he can't follow those dreams..." Her lip quivered, but she bit it, stopping herself from crying again.

"What made him want to go into the Coast Guard?" Noah questioned.

She smiled. Nobody had ever been so interested in getting to know her family.

"My father, being a crab fisher and all, often saw the Coast Guard while he was out in the ocean. They're like the miracle workers out there. They've saved quite a few of my father's friends from trouble. Andrew used to always tell my father that if his boat ever came into trouble, he would be the one out there saving him," she laughed. "He was determined, that's for sure."

"He seems like he was a great kid," Noah commented.

"He was."

For the third time since they'd been there, they stood in silence. Noah was shocked when Angel threw her arms around him, squeezing him tight. He wrapped his arms around her, squeezing her right back.

"Thank you for coming with me," she mumbled into his chest.

"Of course. I wouldn't allow you to go through this alone," he told her.

She pulled back and looked at him with a smile. He smiled back at her and couldn't help but reach up and wipe a stray tear off of her cheek. She unconsciously closed her eyes and leaned into his touch. She opened her eyes and met his gaze, nearly losing her breath when she saw the sparkle of passion in his eyes.

Noah's head leaned closer to hers and she only had time enough to gasp right before their lips made contact. His lips felt soft against hers and she couldn't help but to close her eyes and enjoy the kiss. But when she realized what she was doing, her eyes quickly popped open and she pulled away. Noah just looked at her, waiting for a response.

"Uh...we should get back to camp," she rushed out and began speed walking down the path.

He sighed and shook his head. He should have known she would react this way. She had just gone on a date with Bear the night before and kissed him! What was he thinking? Why had he kissed her? What happened to that rule he had set for himself so he wouldn't get his heart broken again?

"I may be smart, but sometimes I make stupid decisions," Noah mumbled to himself, following after Angel back to camp.
