I was awoken the stupid sound of alarm clock again. Stupid thing. I checked the time ,it was only 7:00. Wait a minute, I thought. I'ts Saturday and I never set my alarm clock this early so who did? Mom, I should've guessed, but why so early in the morning. Before I could think anymore, mom opened my door and said

"Come on, get off your lazy ass" she said.

"mom, no, its only seven in the morning." I moaned.

"We have to find you a job, you can't live off my money forever you know. Your going to have to find a job soon because my budget's tight."

"Yeah, but not now mom. I'm not even 18 yet."

" It doesn't matter, come on get up" she repeated.

"no" I grumbled

" Alexis Megan Cadwell, if you don't get up, I will drag you out myself " .

That was mom using my full name. This time I knew she was serious.

"Ok, ok I'm getting up" I replied.

I managed to get out of my bed and into the shower. Today wasn't my day. Saturday were usually lie-ins for me. After getting out the shower I dried my hair and quickly wrapped it in a loose bun. When I had finished getting changed, I ran downstairs to find mom on the phone in the living room.

"Yes, yeah. How much will she get paid?" my mom asked.

"okay ,yeah that sounds reasonable"

"Have a good day. Bye" she said ending the call.

"I've just spoken to an old friend of mine. Her name is Susan and she is willing to hire you at her café "

"okay, where is it?" I asked, curiously.

"I'ts just a couple of streets down. Campbell road" mom said.

"Alright" I said and with that I left the house. I still wasn't happy because my mom just told me I had to get a Job, without any warnings or consultation.

I was driving down the road ,looking for this café that I was supposed to be working in. The area was very very quiet but I suppose it would be at this time in the morning.I just realized that mom hadn't even told me what it was called. Oh well, I'll just have to find out myself. I arrived at campbell road and saw a little café at the end of the road. Wendys' café it read. This must be it because it's the only one here. From the outside, it looked like a little fancy café with fancy decorations. I got out of my car and walked into the shop. The staff were wearing fancy aprons and little hats. This Café looked seriously dorky. I thought that I would be working in Starbucks or something, not Wendys' café. I went up to the woman at the counter . She looked like she was in her mid-thirties and had curly blonde hair and blue eyes. I went was just about to ask her something when she began speaking.

"Hi, you must be Alexis, Rachel's daughter.Your mother told me all about you. I'm Susan by the way."

"Yeah, I heard that I was supposed to start working here" I said, looking around wandering what to do.

" Yes. your job is pretty easy . All you have to do is take the orders and serve the customers. Simple as that."

"okay, how long is my shift?" I asked.

" four hours, eight till one. Wait there, let me get your uniform."

I really, really didn't want to wear that horrible uniform, but I guess I had to if I wanted the job.

Susan showed me what was on the menu for today and gave me a few tips on how to remember what to serve and who I'm serving to.

When it was eight o'clock, I began taking orders off the customers. Susan was right, it was pretty easy.
