My Protector (Jarlos)

James's POV:

I was walking up to the apartment after working out at the gym. It was late at night. Everyone else was sleeping. Or so I thought. As soon as I walked through the door, something hit my leg.

"Shit! What the hell?!" I curse, jumping on my other leg. "Fuck!"

"Jamie?" I hear a frightened voice.

"Carlos?" I ask, turning on the lights.

"Jamie!" Carlos yells, dropping the bat and hugging me.

I hug him. "Carlos. What the hell are you doing with a bat?! That fucking hurt."

"I'm sorry Jamie. I was scared." Carlos stutters, his grip tightening around me.

I rub his back. "It's okay Carlos. Why are you scared?"

"I had a nightmare Jamie... Someone came through the door and tried to kill me. Then I heard the front door start to unlock and I was scared..." Carlos whimpers. "I'm so sorry..."

I drop my gym bag and pick him up.

"Aww. It's okay. I'll protect you. My leg's fine anyways. Let's go to sleep my little Carlitos." I kiss his forehead, carrying him up to our room.

I lay him down on the bed and pull the covers over him.

"Goodnight Carlitos." I tell him, kissing his forehead.

"You're not sleeping with me?..." Carlos asks.

"I gotta take a shower. I'll be done soon. Just go ahead and sleep." I tell him.

"But Jamie..." Carlos whines.

"Carlos. Just go to sleep." I tell him sternly, walking into the bathroom.

Carlos's POV:

I watched James walk into the bathroom. I pulled the covers over my head and hid. I didn't like it when James got mad at me. I tried to sleep, but I couldn't. Maybe an hour passed by and I still couldn't sleep. I heard James come out of the bathroom.

"Carlos?" I hear James call. "Are you sleeping?"

I ignored him and turned around under the covers. He pulled the covers away and I glared at him. I turned away from him.

"Carlos?... Are you mad at me?" James asks me. "I didn't mean to snap."

I ignored him. He laid down next to me.

"Come on Carlos..." James tells me.

I continued to ignore him. Suddenly I heard a crash from downstairs. I got scared and immediately turned around and clung onto him. I buried my face into his chest. I heard James chuckle.

"Oh Carlitos." James says, hugging me.

"J-Jamie... What was that noise?..." I stutter.

"I'll go find out." James replies, getting up.

James's POV:

I quietly went down the stairs and saw Kendall was awake too.

"Kendall?... Do you know what's going on?" I whisper.

"No. I don't. Let's find out." Kendall whispers back.

We slowly walk to the living room. Nothing. We went to the kitchen. We jumped towards the noise and saw Logan on the floor eating cookies.

"Really?..." I look at him.

"I was hungry!" Logan says innocently.

"Damnit Logan! You gave us a heart attack!" Kendall yells.

"S-Sorry..." Logan stutters.

"It's fine. Just try to be more quiet this time... Carlos is scared. He already hit me with a bat. Don't make him do that to you too." I reply.

"Aww. Your boyfriend is scared?..." Kendall laughs.

"Oh shut up Kendork." I punch him playfully.

I heard Carlos scream. We all look at each other. We run up to my room and saw Carlos shaking. We ran up to him. I pulled him into my embrace.

"Shhh. It's okay..." I tell him. "What happened?..."

"I s-saw something... U-under the b-bed..." Carlos stutters.

"There's nothing under the-..." I start.

Logan screams and jumps in the air. Kendall catches him in his arms. I look at what Logan was pointing at and saw a shadow crawl away. I cocked my head to one side.

"Katie!!" Kendall yells.

"Ugh!! Big brother!! Why do you always ruin my plans?!" Katie's voice rang through the room.

We saw her take off her dark clothing and toss it aside.

"Thanks a lot big bro. I was having so much fun scaring Carlos." Katie says.

"No. Katie. Don't ever do that again. Leave Carlos alone." I tell her.

"Okay okay. Sorry." Katie replies, walking out of the door.

"Well then goodnight you two." Kendall says, carrying Logan out the door.

I make Carlos lay down as I lay down next to him. I kiss his forehead.

"Go to sleep Carlos... You're safe." I tell him.

He cuddles close to me.

"I love you Jamie. Thank you for protecting me." Carlos tells me.

I chuckle. "I love you too Carlitos. I'll always protect you."

We fell asleep.
