Omniscient

Sitting in the hospital for almost two hours, waiting on some sort of update, emotions were running high. A few of August's and Kevin's friends showed up to show their support.

Off in a corner, August sat gazing out the window deep in thought. Ever so often he would bow his head as he felt his eyes well but would quickly wipe them as he fought to be strong, not only for him but for his girlfriend.

"Aug" a familiar voice whispered.

Turning, he saw Candace as she stood with a faint smile.

"Princess and I are about to get something for everyone to eat, you want anything?"

Shaking his head no, he went back to gazing out the window. Trying to keep his composure he sighed in frustration as his phone continuously vibrated in his hand.

News reports had released that Keira was found but was battling for her life currently. Not wanting to think about losing her he tried to ignore everything even though he knew it was just fans and well wishers sending their prayers.

Looking around at everyone in the waiting room, he wished it was him in Keira's place.

"August?"

Looking behind him, Keira's mother stood looking distressed and exhausted.

"You sure you don't want anything? The girls haven't left yet."

Shaking his head once again, he refused to give a verbal answer. Sighing, she shook her head saying ok before walking back over to everyone.

Reason why this was so heart breaking to him, aside from it being his girl, no one was aware of the plans him and Keira were initially making for the new year. The thought of it never coming through scared and crushed him.

"I stopped questioning you and everything that goes on in ma life. I've learned ta accept faith as it comes so why do this ta me, why send me someone who changed everything fa a nigga only ta take ha away from me." He prayed in his mind.

"What I did ta deserve this kinda shit. I made amends with all whom I did wrong and forgiven those who did me wrong. A nigga kept his mind and heart pure and been going back ta church. What tha fuck I did fa this kinda karma"

Shaken out of his thoughts by a consistent vibration, looking at his phone, his mother was face timing him. Reluctantly, he answered and soon enough her face appeared.

"Hey son, any update?" He asked as she greeted him.
