Athella,
I sometimes wonder if
I was always meant to be alone.
I've only ever had eyes for you,
Athella -
and perhaps that was obvious,
because it seems that no one else
takes notice of me.
But that is quite alright.
I would much rather be lonesome
than spend all of eternity
with someone who is not you,
someone who has not your
shimmering blue eyes, or your
wondrously radiant laugh, or your
innocent sense of humor.
All this, I have seen
in my short time by your side,
and I would not trade it for
an army of interested suitors,
a continent full of
different eyes, and
different laughs, and
different personalities completely -
but I think you get my point.
Only you, Athella,
are the one for me.
Only you can turn my
mournful existence into
a joyous song.
Only you can make me
so completely happy
that I forget all other woes
and fall even more madly
in love with you.
