Chapter 5

Kousei ran into the entrance way and finally saw her...Kaori. She looked over at him and waved "Kousei!" he walked over and saw that Tsubaki and Watari were standing with her. Before anyone knew what happened he kneeled down a hugged Kaori as best as he could with her being in a wheelchair. He started crying as she gently tried to sooth him. "Kousei I'm ok."

"You almost died..." he whimpered.

She held up his head and made him look into her eyes "You know I couldn't do that without playing with you again."

In that moment Kousei finally came to terms with his feelings. "Kaori I need to tell you something..."

"Me first..." they both looked over at Watari and Tsubaki... who were holding hands?! "Kaori while you were in the hospital and Kousei was busy practicing Tsubaki and I had to hang out by ourselves a lot. And we realized something..."

"We like each other." Tsubaki finished. "Please don't be mad."

Kaori smiled "I'm not mad. Truth is I've had a crush on Kousei since I first saw him perform."

Kousei gapped at her "Really?"

She nodded "I was just never sure if you felt the same way or if..." Kousei didn't let her finish by quickly smashing her lips against his. He smiled as they tasted the slightest bit like canelés.

Hiroko came up behind them "It's about time!" Watari and Tsubaki nodded smiling.
