Aaaaaand....three hallways. Crap.
"What are we going to do now?"
"Split up. What else can we do."
"It's definitely the middle one." Naruto says.
"Wait!" Jiraiya says, "You can's rely on instinct alone in situations like these."
He then pulls an iron rod out of his shirt and slams it into the ground. It falls towards the right-hand path.
"Looks like I'm going this way."
"HOW WAS THAT ANY DIFFERENT FROM MY GUT INSTINCT, PERVY SAGE?!"
"Naruto's got a point. But he's also shouting. Shut up, Naruto."
"Whatever. Let's not be wasting time. Naruto, Sakura, you two go together. Yuukina, I want you to stick with them."
"Right." I say, and we all tighten our hitai-ate bands. My Sunagakure band is now placed on my arm, while the Konohagakure one covers my forehead.
Naruto, Sakura and I go down the middle path. Jiraiya takes the right one, and Gamakichi covers the left one.
The path we go down seems exactly the same as the one we were just on, despite the fact that the hallway is more narrow than before.
"Watch where you step, guys." Naruto tells us.
We're placed in a strategic formation. Naruto in front, because of his quick reflexes. Me in the back, to watch for anything following us, and Sakura in the middle, to cover both of us.
"Yeah. We know."
Then....Naruto is once again the epitome of stupid.
Remember when I said that I knew we would get caught in some sort of trap? Yeah....that time is now.
He steps right into a hole in the ground.
And then....tiny wooden shuriken.
"NARUTO!!!!"
We run down the hallway, being pelted with wooden shuriken from above. We turn a corner, Naruto trips over a rope, and falls flat on his face.
"Aww, man, what next..."
The ceiling suddenly disappears, revealing at least one hundred bamboo sticks above us, and some on the wall to our left, too.
I don't stick around to find out what they do. I grab Naruto's wrist, Naruto grabs Sakura, and we bolt.
But we don't get far.
Sticks soon criss-cross the hallway, and I'm thrown farther into the hideout by Naruto.
"WHAT THE CRAP, NARUTO!"
Naruto is caught on the other side of the bamboo.
"N-Naruto?"
"It's my fault. Naruto, no!" Sakura yells.
"Hey, I'm a little stuck. Mind giving me a hand?" Naruto says.
"Wha- You're alive? Why did you scream-"
"Oh just help me..."
Sakura tugs Naruto through to the other side.
"I'm leading the way from here." she says, and stomps off....into another trap.
Right underneath Sakura, the floor opens up, revealing a pit of bamboo.
"AAAAHHH!"
Naruto grabs her hand before she can fall too far down. His feet are attached to the wall with chakra.
I'm left teetering on the edge of the drop.
Oh help...
"You're good now, Sakura." Naruto heaves her over his head, but he looses his footing on the wall.
I quickly pull out a thread, and a kunai. I loop the thread through the kunai, then, as Naruto falls and the floor begins to close up once more, I jump in after him.
I grab his arm just before he hits the bamboo sticks, and, still holding the thread, the kunai is jammed between the two halves of the floor, which we are now dangling from.
"Ow."
"Naruto!" I can hear Sakura yelling over and over, "Naruto!"
"Sakura, I'm okay!"
"Naruto?"
"Don't worry about us, just go!"
My hands slip down the thread, closer to the bamboo.
Shit.....
"Shadow Clone Jutsu!"
Two more Narutos appear, each of them struggling for their brief lives.
"I need to make a Rasengan!"
"I can't stretch my arm far enough!"
The clones argue for a while, before I take one of my hands off the rope.
"Make your damn Rasengan in my hand-"
But then a huge hole appears in the wall, draining water into the chamber.
I let go of the thread, and we go swirling around. The Naruto clones explode, and the real one and I cling to the wall. Out of the blue, Gamakichi lands on Naruto's head.
"Is there a way out?" Naruto asks.
"I don't know, I just went with the flow." the tiny orange frog says, shrugging.
"Great. Of course you did. Frogs are useless." I roll my eyes, but then someone's chakra catches my attention.
"Sakura! She's in danger. She's in the same room as Kabuto and Orochimaru!"
"What?!" Naruto yells.
"That's horrible!" Gamakichi says.
"No duh!"
"Yuukina, I need to get to Sakura right away! Smash the walls!"
"Fine, but this is gonna hurt!"
I dive beneath the swirling water, and head for the wall closest to where we last saw Sakura.
I grit my teeth, close my eyes, and slam my fist into the wall.
How does Tsunade do this? It hurts like hell! I think I just broke everything!!
I swim up after a few more punches. The wall crumbles as I swim back towards Naruto.
I motion for him and the frog to swim down after me, and so they do.
We swim into a large chamber where there is noticeably room to breathe.
Both Naruto and I are in a daze as we break the surface of the water, climb onto a wooden floor, and continue to make our way quickly down a hallway towards the three ninjas chakras.
We don't encounter any more traps, though I didn't expect much of this hallway.
Again, if the wall wasn't meant to be broken, why would he have traps down in this hall anyway?
Eventually, we come to a door at the end of the hallway.
"Well, bash it in, then."
"What? You bash it in. Not everything has to be smashed. You've been hanging out with Tsunade too long."
"You've been hanging out with her for longer! You have the monster strength, not me!"
"It's not monster, just..."
"Superhuman?"
"Yeah. Well, go on in, then. Sakura could be waiting for you. Oh hey, Orochimaru's leaving. Whaddya know, she has a better chance of survival now."
Naruto growls, and pushes open the heavy wooden door.
Inside, stands Sakura with Kabuto.
A knife in the air between them.
Hurtling towards Sakura.
