When you become friends

~Skyward Sword Link~

You have been helping Link pay off the debt, having the most fun you've ever had while doing it. Racing to the Knight Commander with Link, seeing who can give the Pumpkin soup quicker. Helping Kina move the pumpkins to the shed, seeing who can balance the most. Finally, the two of you performed in the Lumpy Pumpkin with Kina, seeing who the customers liked most.

"Hey, (Y/N)." Link gets your attention. "A-are we friends?" He blushes and stutter, strangely nervous.

"Of course! Why do you ask?"

"W-well... I've never had a proper friend before..." He admits, head hanging low.

"Really? What about Zelda?" You question, tilting your head.

He sighs. "Well, it was more her father that wanted us to be friends, don't ask me why..."

"That's terrible - I don't get why anyone wouldn't want to be your friend. I mean, you're an amazing friend already!" You smile, giving Link some hope.

"R-really? Thanks (Y/N)." He smiles. "Want to head back to Skyloft?" Link asks, as you both head out to your Loftwings.

"Yeah." You hop on your (F/C) Loftwing. "Race you there!" You shout, your bird giving off some sort of battle cry.

"Oh no you don't!" He shouts, Crimson Loftwing taking to the skies.

You and Link made it to Skyloft (the race ending in a draw) and he stayed in your dorm for most of the night - until curfew of course.

~Twilight Princess Link~

Telma has come down with an awful cold, she has been bedridden for days, you and Link having to help her. Link is pouring the drinks, while you carry the drinks over.

"How long do you think she'll be ill for?" Link asks pouring a drink.

"The doctor said a few days." You reply, passing someone their drink.

"Ah, that's too bad." Link sighs. "At least we get to spend some time together." He smiles.

"Yeah, it's nice having some quality time with friends." You walk over, picking up some more drinks.

"Friend?" He asks, tilting his head. "What's a friend?"

Your mouth drops in shock. Has he never had a friend before? You question - in your head of course. "Well... A friend is someone you're comfortable with, you can tell them anything - just sitting with them is good enough." You explain, taking the drinks to another table when you'd finished.

"Really... So you're my friend?" Link asks, head tilting to the side like a confused puppy.

"Of course! Now, hurry up I need table three's drinks." You chuckle - Link sure can be clueless.

Throughout the few day Telma was ill, you and Link had bonded even more.

~Ocarina of Time Link~

Your uncle was still ill, meaning you still had to look after the shop. However, you weren't alone - Link was there, helping you reach items you couldn't, while you talked to the customers and handling the rupees.

"Hey, Link?" You ask, as a regular customer leaves the shop.

"Yeah?" He asks, grunting as he drops down. "What's up shorty?"
