I smiled at my friends as they walked up to me but my smile soon faded when I saw who was behind them.

Arthur's P.O.V.
Walking in to the throne room I was prepared to meet with an old man but instead Merlin is on the throne. I look at my knights and they are all shocked just like me
"Merlin?" asked Gwaine
"It's Emrys" said Will
"plus he is the Druid King you must show respect" Averr's eyes turn yellow and Gwaine is flying back but he didn't get hurt
"Averr!" shouted Merlin
"he disrespected you sire" he stated
"but it was just a question, he is my friend in Camelot" Merlin got up and walked over to Gwaine "I am sorry" he helped Gwaine up
"Emrys?...why didn't you tell us?" I asked
"like you'll believe me" he said and went back to his throne "but forget that...Arthur Pendragon I was told you want an alliance with my kingdom, why should we help you? you killed my kin along with your father"
"Merlin really? come on lets just get this over with, I have the papers all you have to is sign them" I looked at Leon and asked for the papers
"If that is your answer then no, we do not have an alliance"
"Merlin-"
He stood up "Here my name is Emrys and I am the king so I must do what is best for my people" he looked mad at me
"I am sorry Emrys but we can help each other...I want to bring magic back to Camelot and you can help me and if you ever need us then we can help you"
"we have magic"
"yes but during Morgana's time many kingdoms have found away to fight magic"
"yes that's true very well Arthur Pendragon but beware if you hurt my kin without fully knowing why they use magic the alliance will end and we go to war" he looked serious and he had this expression which scared me
"very well King Emrys" I said and handed him the papers.
Merlin's P.O.V.
Arthur handed me the papers and he looked a bit scared I had to try not to smile, I signed the papers when i felt the pain again
"Arthur-" I whispered and fell into his arms "aaaaaahhhhhh"
"Sire!" I heard my friends say
"what is wrong with him?" I heard Gwaine
"the closer he gets to turning 20 the more pain he will feel" explained Evert.
