14. Inside Desiderio

It's been almost a week since Sky started tailing Senator Hendrix, gathering information and  clues that might lead him to solve Rafie's murder case. Bukod sa mga meeting nito, tanging ang Desiderio lamang ang pinupuntahan ng senador at ngayong gabi, naisipan niyang sundan ito hanggang sa loob mismo ng KTV lounge.

It is highly maintained. De calidad lahat ng materyales ng dekorasyon, maging ang kanilang carpet ay mapapansin ring mamahalin. Mabuti na lamang at nag-reasearch siya tungkol sa lugar na ito. Tanging ang mga VIP members at may reservation lamang ang maaaring makapasok rito.

Sky was handed a golden masquerade face mask. He saw other colours of such masks - silver and bronze. He paid for the highest ticket when he booked his reservation which gives him free access to every corner of the said bar.

He walked casually alongside the other members escorted by women dressed in tight clothing, high heels, and luscious red lipstick. These women are all wearing pink masquerade face masks. Hindi rin nagtagal ay may isang babaeng lumapit sa kaniya. Pormal ang kauotan kompara sa mga naunang babaeng nakita niya kanina at nakasuot naman ito ng crimson-coloured masquerade mask. Even the shade f her lipstick is darker. "Welcome to Desiderio. How can we fulfil your desires tonight?"

He wasn't sure how to respond to the question and he needed to play safe. Ayaw niyang makahalata ang kausap nito na may ibang pakay siya sa pagpunta rito. This will blow his cover and might cause unnecessary commotion. He cleared his throat, loosen his tie, and returned the question instead, "What do you recommend to a young man like me?"

Ngumiti ang kausap nito na para bang nanalo sa casino. She personally assisted him to a private room, right next to the room guarded by two men. He grinned in secrecy. Nasa loob ng kuwartong iyon si Senator Hendrix at makakagawa siya ng paraan upang malaman kung ano ang pinag-uusapan nila sa kuwartong iyon gamit ang isang maliit na listening device na nasa bulsa ng coat niya.

Papasok na sana ito nang lumabas ang isang lalaking may katandaan mula sa kinaroroonan ni Senator Hendrix. Nilagpasan sila ng lalaking iyon at sinundan naman niya ng tingin. "Is that the way to the men's restroom?"tanong nito habang itinuturo ang pasilyong nilikuan ng ginoo.

Tumango naman ang babaeng kasama niya. "Yes."

He faced her and tapped her shoulder, "Get me the best bottle of liquor and great food you have." Utos nito rito at mas lalong lumawak ang ngiti ng kausap jiya. "I just need to use the restroom."

Hindi na jiya hinintay na sumagot ito at kaagad na siyang nagtungo sa men's restroom. Tahimik, malinis, at mabango sa loob. Mukhang nililinisan kada isa o dalawang oras. Tatlo ang cubicle sa loob, sarado ang nasa dulo. Kaagad niyang binuksan ang gripo sa washer nang marinig niyang nag-flush ang ginoo bago bumukas ang pinto.

The man came to wash his own hands too, aggressively took of his golden masquerade mask, and his eyebrows almost in unison. The old mad, who seems to be in his early fifty's, is definitely annoyed at something. He grabbed his mask and before he could leave, Sky purposely bumped him which made his mas fell to the perfectly white tiles.

"I-I'm sorry, I wasn't looking." he acted apologetic, picked the man's mask, and returned it to the owner while planting the peas-seized listening device inside the man's pocket. Hindi mahahalatang isa itong gadget dahil mukha itong maliit na turnilyo.

Pinalagpas niya ang dalawang minuto bago siya pumanhik sa kwarton nireserba niya para sa kaniyang sarili. Isang mamahaling bote ng alak ang nasa gitna ng malaki at maluwang na lamesang itim. Pinapalibutan ito ng maraming uri ng pagkain - buffalo wings, cordon bleu, chicken pops, and buttered shrimp with sauce. Ilang sandali pa ay kumatok muli ang babaeng kausap niya kanina, may kasama itong isang babaeng kulay blonde ang buhok, hapit ang kulay silver nitong damit, red high heels, and wearing a  pink masquerade mask.
