You yawned as you walked down the hallway towards the door into the Curt's flat on the top floor where you now lived, and returned the lollipop Levi had given you into your mouth as you reached it (the doorman/landlord might look and try to act scary, but he was a big softy really). You opened the door to find Curt leaning against the wall by the door to his office, on the phone with a small frown on his face. Glancing through the door to his office you could see his desk was a mess, covered with what must have been about a hundred sheets covered with various designs. You gave him a small wave and he smiled at you as you came over to hug him, leaning down to press a kiss against the top of your head.

"I want that ad in the paper tomorrow, I can't go this long without a PA." He snapped into the receiver. Ah, it was work then. You went into the next room to get started on your homework and Domino sat up on the sofa only temporarily while you sat down, before resting his head on your knee. "I SAID THE RED SILKS." Curt suddenly yelled from the other room, making you both jump.

It had been two years since you had first moved in with Curt. Since then, Arthur had been transferred to the police station that was local to you (you weren't sure if he had asked or been given, he just got this strange smile on his face whenever you asked), and of course Mattie had moved with him. You still weren't sure what Mattie actually did for a living though (secret agent). You had actually questioned the Canadian on his career and he had laughed and said that no, he wasn't, in fact, a secret agent (yeah, right, he totally was).

The teachers at your new school were nice. Your favourite was Mr. Hamada, who taught both science and technology. He was young (only eighteen?!) and smart and kinda handsome and NO, that wasn't a crush, what are you talking about?! Okay, maybe.

The adoption had become official about a month after you'd moved in, when you had received an official adoption certificate. It was now framed. On the fireplace. So there were no doubts.

You looked up as Curt appeared in the doorway and flumped down on the sofa beside you, wrapping an arm loosely around your shoulders to hold you close, and you snuggled up to him as he turned on the TV, running his fingers through your hair. And there was no way. Life couldn't possibly get any better than this.
