Chapter 2 ~ One Joke to Far

When Lunch was over Steve and Natasha happily lead me to Gym where a group of kids were hovered around one single guy with short spiked dark hair and a red gym uniform on. As we near the calamity of screaming girls Steve scoffs and pulls me away from them and toward the other end of the Gym.

"Who's that?" I ask my curiosity getting the better of me.

"That is Tony Stark, otherwise known as Iron-man." Steve replies quickly his brow furrowing.

"I take it he's Mr. Popular of this school?" I ask as I glance back in Tony's direction.

"You'd be correct." Steve says as he leads me over to a bench press. "How much can you bench?"

"I've never really tried." I reply honestly.

"That's fine," He replies a small smirk covering his lips. "Why don't you go get changed into your gym clothes and we'll find out your limits okay?" He asks and I nod. "Okay, meet me back here when you're done."

"Yes sir," I reply saluting him and he laughs.

Turning I walk past the onslaught of horny teenage girls and make my way to the girls locker room. I had been designated the locker 505. I walk through the locker room and finding my locker quickly start to get changed. I had heard a familiar voice enter the locker room and it was one I wasn't about to face right now.

"Did you see what that freak did?" Jean says and my heart clenches. "She ruined my favorite vest."

"Why are you so worried about it? I'm sure the professor will buy you a new one." Another girl I wasn't acquainted with says in reply.

"That's not the point Jubilee," Jean replies closing her locker door. "The point is that freak doesn't know her place; but I know for a fact she has Gym this hour."

"What are you going to do?"

"Oh you'll see." Jean replies and I feel a cold chill run up my spine. I wait until their gone before I lean my back against the lockers and slowly slide down them until I am sitting on the floor in the quiet. Taking a deep breath I decide not to go to Gym and head out through the window of the locker room. As my feet hit the ground I look around to see that I am alone a few feet from the fence line and let out a sigh of relief.

Coulson had always told me not to run from my problems but this was different. After everything I went through in my normal school I had made it a point not to even bother fighting back. Bullies were bullies, no matter where you went there was always someone like that there. Tossing my bag over my shoulder I sneak away from the gym and decide to walk down the fence line.

The Villain's school looked pretty run-down compared to ours. Letting out a heavy sigh I look around for a more hidden spot next to the fence before making a beeline for it. Once I am sure no one can see me I plop down leaning back against the fence and stare off up through the tree limbs toward the sky. I silently think to myself what it would be like to just fly away and not look back; but then a mental image of my father pops into my head and I sigh.

All the sudden I hear arguing and I look around to see a group of Villains fighting amongst each other and I can't help but stare at them. "You don't belong here." One of the villains with short spiky flame orange hair says and I tilt my head as continue to watch them. Suddenly the object of their taunts comes into view and I feel my heart jump in my chest. He was gorgeous, with his shaggy brown hair that ended just short of his shoulders and his deep blue eyes were like pools of enchanting water. It suddenly dawns on me that this is the guy that was sitting at the fence this morning.

"No, unlike you; I'm the only one who belongs here." He replies his eyes narrowing making a chill run up my spine. His once dreamy enchanting eyes were now cold and menacing. Like lightning he attacks his attackers and within minutes they are all lying unconscious on the ground around him. Stretching his back he lets out a heavy sigh and says, "Are you gonna hide there all day?" For a sec I think he is talking about me until a beautiful blonde girl who was pretty much drenched in green walks out from around the corner and smiles at him.
