Chapter 5 ~ Sinister Truths

Reader's POV

Weeks had passed since then and I had been busy. I hadn't had a chance to go thank Winter since we had midterms and random abilities tests. I had definitely grown closer to all my friends. Wanda and I had become best friends along with Wade and the rest of them. Things were starting to look up. Until it all went to hell. It only goes to show you can't hide the fact forever.

Today after a very tiresome workout with Steve during gym class, I stood in the locker room a few feet from the showers waiting for all the other girls to leave. There were a few reasons why I wouldn't and couldn't shower with the other girls. I wrap my arms tightly around my waist as I try to push the bad memories out of my mind. Clenching my eyes tight I once again hear that mysterious guys voice and my body sways. Catching myself I move from the shower room to a bench in front of my locker and sit down.

Jenny? Where's Jenny?

"I don't know who that is!" I yell out making a group of girls who were walking by jump in shock. "Sorry," I apologize as I burry my face in my hands.

Who are you?

"(Name), (Name) Coulson." I reply as I creepily have a conversation with myself.

Coulson... I remember him. He would know where Jenny is. You have to ask him!

"Okay, hold up. I'm not doing anything for you until you tell me who you are."

I was called Nightmare. That was my Hero name.

"Huh?" I say in shock but he doesn't reply. "Hey hello? You can't just say that and leave!" ruffling my hair I growl out in annoyance as I end up even more confused than I was in the first place. Nightmare huh? Putting off my shower I pull my clothes on and head toward the library. Yesterday one of the teachers had said that there was a list of all the past heroes and their villains listed on the school database and if this so called 'Nightmare' was really a Hero, he'd be listed there.

I grab a computer near the window and tossing my backpack down next to it I start my search. Unfortunately, all traces of this so called Nightmare person were redacted. There were no traces of his name except that he went by 'Nightmare'. Furrowing my brow, I reach into my pocket and pulling out my cellphone I text Daisy.

Me- 'Hey could really use your master hacker skills in the library.'

Daisy- 'First off I wanna thank you for finally acknowledging my awesomeness, second why do you need a hacker?'

Me- 'I'll explain when you get here. Will you help me?'

Daisy- 'Yeah, give me a sec do ditch Proff Pym.'

Me- 'Thanks Daisy see you in a sec.'

I toss my cell onto the desk and leaning back in my chair let out a heavy sigh. This was crazy. What the hell was I doing and why the hell was I in contact with this creepy individual? I feel the sun shine down on my skin and I smile as I lean into its rays. It felt so warm an inviting. Something reflects in the distance and I see Winter sitting next to the fence his back to me. I could tell he was sleeping from the way his shoulders moved slowly up and down with his breathing.

My mind wanders back too when he had stared at me with that strange look in his eyes. I had only momentarily held his gaze before Natasha and Steve pulled me away; but for some reason, I had felt a strange pull to him. This might sound cheesy but his hair wasn't pulled back so the wind had been whipping it around his face. For some reason it felt like he was saying goodbye and I didn't like it. Clearing my throat, I pull my cellphone back out and hitting the camera button I point it toward Winter and zoom in.
