Our Last Note - A Jeremy McKinnon Fanfiction

Part 13

I jolted awake, sweating profusely and panting. I screamed, unaware that my dream sequence was not reality. Jeremy hovered above me, but his eyes were not angry, they were fearful and concerned.

"E-Ember, what's wrong? Did you have a nightmare?"

I scanned my surroundings with huge, petrified eyes. When my panic flooded away I took a shaky, deep breath and collapsed back against my pillow. "I h-had a nightmare. You told me you hated me because I'd cheated on you with the rest of your band and then you chucked me on the road and I got hit by a car and..." I shuddered, on the verge of tears.

Jeremy looked mortified, immediately hugging round me protectively. "Even if you ever did cheat on me, which I know you won't, I would never do that to you in my life."

"I kn-know. But it was so real..."

"It's over now, sweetheart... calm down. It's okay."

I took deep breaths and managed to calm myself down. I kissed Jeremy softly as a thank you and an apology for my freakout. He just smiled. It was moments like then that made me realise how god damn lucky I was.

"I'm so sorry," I sighed. "What time is it?"

"5:20. I was gonna wake you up soon. Mind if I jump in the shower?"

"Go ahead. I'll start getting ready."

"Okay. Just shout if you need me." Jeremy sauntered off the shower and I composed myself before ringing Kellin.

"How's everything going? Is it all set up?" I inquired quietly down the phone.

"Pretty much," the girlish voice of my brother responded. "All Time Low and Bella and Neil haven't arrived yet, but they've all said they're on their way."

"Awesome. We'll be leaving soon. I'll slip you a sneaky text when he's not looking when we do leave."

"Great. Jimmy Eat World are psyched. They're so eager to meet the birthday boy."

"They better be! I'll see you soon, okay?"

"Alright. Love ya, baby Quinn." Kellin cooed. I could almost hear his grin.

"Love you too, big Quinn."

I proceeded to get dressed as Jeremy continued to shower. I grabbed my favourite Jimmy shirt and a checkered jacket to put over the top. I threw on my designer shorts and Drop Dead kitty leggings. Jeremy meandered out of the shower just as I had started my make-up and hair.

I smiled at the results of my overdone outfit. I never usually made this much effort, but today was different. Jeremy looked as stunning as ever once he was in full accord. He wore a different Jimmy shirt - score - and a blue and white striped jacket. He also wore his $130 G-Star jeans which I swore he had a shrine to somewhere. Jeremy had shaved his beard around the edges where it had begun to get scruffy and gelled his hair to the side. My fiancé was damn sexy.

"Gimme a twirl, darling," Jeremy giggled. I did so and he laughed more, kissing me gently.

"Come on, gorgeous. Let's waste no time." I took his hand and we left, locking the house and jumping into his car.

"So where are you taking me?" Jeremy asked.

"I'm not taking you to any fancy restaurants or overrated clubs. Instead, I'm taking you to the place we first met."

"Classy. I never thought of Emberlight. Pretty neat thinking."

I grinned still as I parked beside the pavement near the gates. I cunningly wrote Kellin a text saying we were there, and I thought I was covered until my text tone played loudly as I got a reply. I glanced at it.

'Awesome. I'll tell security to hide for a sec so you can come in without him noticing. Excited! :D x'

I rolled my eyes. Jeremy gave me an inquisitive look and I explained to him that it was Kellin being nosy about our date, nothing more.

After that was covered, we began the trek to the top of the hill. Half way up, Jeremy's voice sliced through the icy cold of the night. "Strange. I dont remember it being so quiet here."

"Strange indeed," I agreed with a playful smirk. "You could say nature was sleeping with sirens."

"huh?"

"I hope you're not at an all time low tonight babe, because my chemical romance for you will make this a day to remember even after our wedding day when you pierce my veil."

Before Jeremy could possibly wonder what I was going on about, a new voice spoke up. "you better believe it, Jeremy."

It was none other than the lead singer of Jimmy Eat World, along with his bandmates Tom, Rick and Zach. Jeremy's mouth dropped open as the band came out of the bushes, proceeded by All Time Low, My Chemical Romance, Sleeping With Sirens and many of our family and friends.

Jeremy looked dumbfounded. "Ember..."

"Surprise," I cackled, kissing him.

"You did all of this...for me?"

"Of course! You do everything for me, it's about time I did the same for you. Now come on..." I beamed as Sleeping With Sirens began their set. "Let's make this a day - or night - to remember!"
