Chapter 8

Chapter 8 – Music Training

           It’s now the 2nd week of February and this time, she has training with DJ Cadence. As Scarlet wakes up, Cadence was sitting near her bed.

            “What’s up girl?” asked Cadence.

            “Cadence?” said Scarlet.

            “That’s right! DJ Cadence will be your teacher and Sensei told you that you mastered the 3 elements! Time to help you patched em’ up!” said Cadence. “But first, you need to eat!”

She gave her a tray of a normal breakfast… but plain. It was a glass of milk and cereal. After washing up, Cadence and Scarlet went to the Night Club. She has to close the entire Night Club so she locked the main entrance, the boiler room, the night lounge and asked Gary to let all Spy phones to not entre the night club building.

            “So how is dancing going to help me patch up my powers?” asked Scarlet.

            “What I meant was that you’ll be dancing when balancing Club Penguin” said Cadence. “The dance moves are what I and only I can only do! So you’ll be choreographed by me to learn them”.

            “Ok” said Scarlet.

Scarlet got nervous because she never danced hard before. She only knows the waltz and some hip hop. Cadence taught her the simply moves like the foot slide to the right and left. She taught her all the simple ones for 1 week. Then she was taught the more complex moves like the body spin. It was really hard to master. It took 4.5 weeks to learn. Then Scarlet had to learn using the powers of Card – Jitsu with her dance and Sensei came to help her with that. It starts with the water moves and it’s mixed with the simple moves. Then it was the Fire element with the complex moves. Then she had to jump with the Snow element. They had to train in Sensei’s hidden area for that so the Night Club was open again. It was really dangerous but Sensei can protect Cadence when an element went out of control when she danced. The water combinations were easy to master within 2.5 weeks. The fire moves were harder. When Scarlet had to spin her body, she mastered the Fire power with the dance after 5 weeks. Then she had to try it with music to see if she can manage it. She was able to do it in 3 weeks. Cadence was now impressed.

            “Well done!” said Cadence. “And it’s now week 2 of June. June! Man, time passes by fast”

            “I can’t do those dances without you C!” said Scarlet. “And also you Sensei”

Sensei bowed and he let them both out of the room and back to the courtyard. Cadence told her something special.

            “Scarlet, the Music Jam will start next week which is tomorrow, so you’ll be with the Penguin Band for Music Training. For that, you’ll be in the band… temporally” said Cadence as they go down the mountain.

            “Cool! Hope I can perform well with lots of penguins watching!” said Scarlet.

            The next day was the Music Jam’12 and Franky was sitting beside her bed playing a little tune with his old acoustic guitar.

            “Hi Franky!” said Scarlet.

            “Hello band mate!” said Franky. “Gary told us that you can sing! Time to see if you can do it for this year’s music jam”

            “No harsh training?” asked Scarlet.

            “Nope! You just need to release you full music ability, that’s all” said Franky. “Our gig starts in an hour so you better eat!”

Franky brought out a tray with Cheese Pizza and juice in it. After Scarlet ate, Franky washed the plates and glass while Scarlet tries to find a great outfit. Then she saw a piece of clothing that she bought before. It was called the Daydream and they sold it in the Music Jam’11. She got some accessories and the Crystal that Gary gave her. She even got a microphone.

            “Am I good enough?” asked Scarlet.

Franky saw her and he told her that she does not need the microphone. He saw her jewellery box and saw some bracelets for her to wear. Scarlet got her Dazzle shoes and they went to the Performance stage in the Iceberg. They went backstage and G Billy and the others saw her. They were dazzled from her attire.

            “Welcome Scarlet to the band… temporarily” said G Billy.

            “Now were complete!” said Petey K.

            “Let’s rock!” said Stompin Bob.

            “Yeah!” said Scarlet.

G Billy told her the plan for their performance and told her that she will perform after they introduced her. So the band went out and played their theme song Better Days. They played their newly wrote ones and their classic ones like the Penguin Band Boogie. As they performed, Scarlet was peaking behind the curtain.

            “Wow! They’re good!” said Scarlet. “I wonder how I’ll be doing!”

Then she saw G Billy going to the Microphone.

            “Hello CP! Now I would like to introduce you to our new member, Starlight!” said G Billy.

Scarlet had no idea that she was called Starlight. It was a surprise. Petey K saw her peeking from backstage. He waved at her to let her go to the stage. Scarlet went out waving to all the penguins watching. When she was near G Billy, she asked whispered him some questions but he told her that she has to ask them later. Instead, G Billy asked her what modern song she likes singing. She some songs by her favourite singers. The audience heard her voice and some of them know that it’s Allie’s voice. Once Scarlet was done singing, she heard some penguins screaming Allie. She saw some of her old classmates and saw that Sky, Mira, Grace and Reed came and saw her. Then the Band Ended performing and every penguin went to the backstage to get their autographs… except Scarlet’s. When everyone left, Scarlet asked her question again.

            “Aaah, that’s because that most of your penguins watching may be your old classmates and they know that you are gone so we planned that we had to hide your Penguin’s name and switch it to something good” said G Billy.
