With the help of one of the villagers walking around me, I have discovered where we are.

They call it Rukongai, or the Rukon District. It's a place where those who have passed on go to live. It is located within a place known as the Soul Society.

It takes me quite a while to calm Shōri down. The poor thing would have imploded if she wasn't given the option to express her emotions. Finding out she died must have been painful for her. I feel awful that she has to go through this so early in life, at only five years old.

Strangely enough, the chains we two once donned have disappeared. Chains are apparently only worn by Wholes, which is the name for those who have only just died. Now, we are simply Souls. Wandering Souls. Lost Souls. Homeless Souls.

I frown, Shōri's small hand in mine as we stumble down the street. I still don't know what to do, or where to go. I can't seem to muster up the courage to ask for any more assistance. I know I should be trying harder for Shōri, but my lack of experience in helping myself or others makes things more complicated.

"Sister, I'm tired."

I look down at Shōri, who rubs her eyes after failing to supress a yawn. I guess I don't have a choice but to uncomplicate things, I suppose.
