Daughter of Thanatos

She remembered nothing. Her past was a blank slate, all things important about her were gone. She remembers the less important things, like a hotel and a silly little card game she used to play with a boy in a hotel. She remembers her birth language of Italian, secondary languages of English, French, and Latin, but doesn't remember where she was born. Violet remembers exactly how many attack points a manticore has, but not the face of her mother. She has known one thing since waking up on her fifteenth birthday without memories. She needed to run. And it wasn't really a memory as it was a voice in her head telling her to, but still. She'll take what she can get, without sounding insane. That would be bad for Vi, because mental hospitals made you sit still, and she hated sitting still. She don't know what it was about it, but she just couldn't. Not having ADHD, but paranoia, and Tourette's. And the opinion that all time should be spent doing something, and sleep is invaluable-as in a waste of her time- there are only twenty four hours in a day after all. And she hated spending them bored. She was currently in foster care, making her way around New York, avoiding staying in one place for too long. After all, if she hadn't gotten injured from the monsters she's seen once, she would've admitted herself to a psych facility. Vi still has the scars. Four claw marks from a hellhound. At the time, She thought she was either dreaming or schizophrenic. She had met a schizophrenic once, she was actually pretty cool. But she was depressed, which was sad. Especially because Violet had known her for three months before she committed suicide. She was the one who had found her. Vi was almost sixteen now. Fifteen and eight months to be exact, and then she could get a job, money, a drivers license, and some freedom. And maybe, just maybe if she was lucky, some answers to her life. She was thrown out of her thoughts and into the seats in front of her by the sudden halt of the bus. And that's when she saw the three elderly ladies sitting in the middle of the road with a basket of yarn and some shears. Vi flipped out. They reminded her too much of the Fates, and she was terrified. So she did the logical thing. Jumping out of her seat she ran towards them. The shears were raised and they were about to cut the string to a knitted beanie. An entirely black knitted beanie. She didn't know why, but felt like if they cut the string, bad things would happen to her, meaning it was her string of fate. She didn't even bother to use the currently closed bus doors; instead sprinted from the back of the bus all the way to the front and jumped, crashing through the windshield and landing directly in front of the old ladies, and snatching the hat along with some of the string. There was a fairly long strand left, meaning if she didn't die now, she would die of old age. Good, that's good. But she just stole a hat from an old lady sitting in the road knitting, jumped out a bus window, and currently bleeding. Someone from the bus screamed and Vi took off running through the street, causing a couple traffic accidents, but kept going. She didn't have time to stop or slow down. But she needed to know where she was and how far away from them she had gotten. Craning her head, she looked over her shoulder and saw a man with a gun pointed directly at her. Only it wasn't really a man, it was a skeleton in a confederates uniform holding a shotgun. Imagine the panic this would cause! And She thought she was the only one going to cause traffic incidents. Upon seeing the skeleton cock his rifle, she turned back around now running top speed in the opposite direction, weaving across the street like people to tell you to do with alligator attacks. Which apparently doesn't work with confederate skeletons, because there was suddenly pain radiating outwards from her back. Falling forwards, she scrapped her knees and right hand before quickly standing up again and continuing running. Losing track of how long she had been running, she was stopped. By a fairly large black horse with a boy sitting on top. It wasn't the boy or the horse that stopped her. Well, she ran into the horse, so that's what sent her down, but this specific black horse had wings. Amazing wings that looked like they were about to fold down and brain her. And behind the boy was another guy, this one was on a storm horse thing. A venti and a Pegasus. The voice was in her mind again, but it was her own. These were some of the creatures from that older game, Mythlomagic. The venti was far more dangerous than the Pegasus, but for the riders, the roles were completely reversed. The one on the black Pegasus had this sort of aura around him, like he had seen more death and tragedy than most war veterans, and his sea green eyes reflected a sadness along with a knowledge that Violet knew to be well above that of regular people his age. Which she assumed was somewhere around nineteen. His brown-black hair was windblown and kinda shaggy in a cute way. She was betting all the girls liked him. Now, the boy on the venti held himself like that of a leader, a leader ready to charge into battle. His aura kind of reminded her of a Roman Praetor, and she had no clue why. His blond hair was a bit long and his blue eyes reminded her of a sky lit up with lightning bolts. Frightening yet interesting at the same time. And he had a barely noticeable from this distance scar on his lip. Vi wondered how he got it. Closing her eyes and taking a deep breath, she felt a burning on her arms. She had done this before and didn't panic, after all, in the time period from first waking up to now she had completed this act four times. She looked down at her arms which were now covered in a strange language, which she translated easily. The text on her right arm was written in a blackish blue ink while the left was a lighter blue color. She read the darker one first. "Percy Jackson: son of Poseidon and Sally Jackson- Bloffis, best with his sword Riptide (transforms into pen, celestial bronze), likes blue food, defeated Luke Castellan, engaged to Annabeth Chase, age is 19, Greek and Roman, once Roman Praetor along with Reyna Remires-Alverez, claimed for 7 years to date, survivor of Tartarus, once bathed in the river Styx, denied offer of immortality, caused and helped stop Gaea's rising, weakness is his loyalty, powers include control over water, speaking to horses, and breathing under water, nickname is Seaweed brain (given by Annabeth), helped close the doors of death," she read silently, skipping on until the end as his list of achievements- which went on forever. The list was so long she had to look on her shoulder for his future sentence. "If death should occur, he will be sent to Elysum for all he has done." This Perseus Jackson guy was okay. Upon running her middle finger down the text and up to her wrist before tapping it twice she watching the words fade into her skin. Now onto the other guy. "Jason Grace: son of Jupiter and Beryl Grace, brother to Thalia Grace, champion of Juno, pontifex Maximus, hero of Olympus, helped defeat Gaea, trained by Lupa, Roman birth, currently sporting Greek beliefs, saved the world four times, weapon of choice- gold coin that when flipped transforms into a Roman gladius or spear (imperial gold), status- alive," this time she didn't bother reading through much more than that before skipping onto the part that was needed. "If death was to befall him, he shall be placed in Elysium for all he has done." Both of them were trust-worthy. Violet cleared away the text in the same fashion as She had done the last time before switching the rings on her middle fingers around, this time the black on the left hand and the white on her right. This had to be done every time she used those weird powers, all though she had no clue as to why. She also found out that no one but she could see them. It took a minute and a half to read through their life stories, they stood patiently, to which she was thankful for. Half a second more passed as she remembered the skeleton man who had chased her into Percy's horse. She looked over her shoulder and saw the skeleton aiming his gun at Percy Jackson. Jason Grace could control lightning while Percy could control water. And while she had no current skill with this sort of thing, she knew these skeletons couldn't be beaten. She settled on the plan to get its gun and head instead. "Percy! Jason! Get the gun!" They looked at her like she had just decreed that she was a purple smurf, in other words confused, before jumping into action. She did a fancy gymnastics thing and twisted its head off, landing in an unintentional split. She now had the skull along with the black beanie in hand and the boys had subdued the rest of it while the head chattered at her, it's teeth clacking annoyingly. One way to slow this sucker down would be to smash his skull. A skill which she would be able to preform on her own. Vi hoisted the thing over her head and threw it as hard as she could towards the ground. It spit in half directly down the middle before falling apart, where she promptly kicked the two halves away from each other before turning to the duo. Who now had the gun along with their weapons and surprised faces. She gave a shy wave and decided to fix the black beanie, tucking the string into the hat and knotting it off before placing it upon head. "Chose a horse and climb on, we need to leave." Percy spoke, leaving her confused. "Aren't you going to ask how I know your names?" Jason was the one to answer this time. "I've seen weirder. But we seriously need to go, like now. That skeleton is already re-forming." Nodding, she climbed onto the Pegasus. The venti freaked her out a bit to much. S didn't want to ride in something made out of a storm, fearing the probability she would fall right through the thing halfway to where ever they were going. As soon as she was on the horse, it took off almost sending her off backwards. Violet screamed and frantically wrapped her arms around Percy, clutching him for dear life. He laughed and she squeezed tighter. She had a major fear of heights. No, a major fear of falling from high places, breaking all of her bones, and going splat on some building down below. She closed her eyes and focused on breathing for a moment, reassuring herself that she wasn't going to fall. With that though in place, she managed to open her eyes in time to view them soaring over New York toward Long Island Sound. She let out a triumphant holler and and smiled, she wasn't falling from a great hight that would end in her demise! Percy and the horse were lowering from their current altitude as they neared a camp. She saw that Jason was already half way there. As they landed a large ring of people surrounded them, all but one sporting orange shirts. She assumed they were for the camp she had read about when doing her search on Percy Jackson. The one not in orange was dressed in all black, similar to Vi, and gave off an aura of death. And he was holding a blond guys hand. She also assumed they were dating. Wanting to know more about this guy, she again did her weird voodoo magic Googling trick. The words were black. And everywhere. There were so many that the text wouldn't even fit on her arms, it swirled around her in a tornado, and the sadness and heartache hurt her. Vi felt like the words were stabbing her, and despite her speed reading skills, she couldn't get through it all . Letting out an agonized scream, she crumpled onto her knees and then the floor whilst clutching her stomach. People tried to grab her, but the one in black, Nico Di Angelo, managed to lift her up and hurry her to the infirmary.
