Chapter 12 -Alex

"Come out where I can see you Jacky." I say.

I couldn't just trust a random stranger, especially in these times.

She stepped out, showing a girl around my age with long black hair and brown eyes. She was wearing a white tank top with pink shorts and white sneakers, holding a machete.

"The second one come out too!" I say cautiously.

She stepped up, but looked like she struggled a little.

She had brown hair, that looked like the color of copper, light blue gray eyes and she was wearing blue jeans and a grey shirt with black boots, and was very young, like about 13 or 14.

She looked at me blankly, with no emotion whatsoever.

"Jacky, how can you trust someone without knowing them?" The girl said blankly without looking at Jacky.

"Is uh, something wrong with her?" I ask pointing at the girl.

"Beth? Oh, she's blind." Jacky says.

"Yeah, got a problem with it?" Beth asks bitterly.

"N-no not at all." I say regretful.

I had to admit, it was pretty rude of my part to say that.

"Well then." She says less aggressively.

There was a long pause, but then I said, "I have one question."

"Which is?" Jacky asks.

"If you, work for, Queen Alyson." I say.

"QUEEN ALYSON?!" Beth exclaims in disgust, as if it were the most offensive thing I've said.

"Not in a million years." Jacky says.

"I just wanted to make sure, I'm not very, let's just say, FOND of her." I say biting my bottom lip.

"You and I both Alex." Jacky says putting her hand on my shoulder.

I jump a little, I guess Im more used to being charged at.

"Oh, sorry." She says putting her hand back at her side.

"No, it's fine, I guess I'm used to getting attacked." I say chuckling softly.

She smiles slightly at me and asks, "So, why were you running away, and WHOA your hands are bleeding." Jacky says pointing to my hands.

I looked down and noticed she was right, I almost forgot about them.

"Oh yeah! Let's just say, I got, um, mad, and hit some glass." I say.

"ALEX! Where are you!" I heard someone exclaim.

"Oh god no." I say face palming.

"Wha-?" Jacky was about to say, but I cut her off by pulling her and Beth behind a bush.

"Shhhh." I say quietly.

I looked over the bush, and saw Mitch, Jason, and Adam looking around for me.

"Great, just great." I say bitterly.

"Oh my god it's Sky-" Jacky began once again, but I put my hand over her mouth.

"Yes! I know, shudup! I don't want them to see me." I whispered.

"Let's split up, she could be anywhere." Jason said, as they all went separate ways, while Mitch was heading towards us.

I awaited, and when he was right next to the bush, I pulled him in with us and covered his mouth quickly.

He struggled to get out of my grasp, until I said, "Mitch! Stahp it!"

He looked at me and calmed down.

I took my hand out of his mouth and he said, "Alex?"

"Yes yes, now hush, I don't want them to hear me." I say looking at the directions Adam and Jason went to.

When we couldn't hear them, we got up and I stretched.

"Alex? What the heck! You almost gave me a heart attack." Mitch says.

"Well sorry!" I say rolling my eyes.

"Why did you pull me down if you were hiding from us?" He asked me, referring to the rest of the guys.

"Because, because you're the only one I can trust." I say.

He looks at me for a while, but nods.

"Wait, Jacky, if you did not come from Queen Alyson, then where do you come from?" I ask.

"From my group of course!" She piped up.

"Jacky! Keep your mouth shut." Beth hissed.

"What? We're friends now!" She retorts.

"If you don't want to show me, that's fine." I say.

"NO, not fine, come follow me." Jacky says leading the way.

"This is a bad idea." I hear Beth mutter under her breath.

We all followed Jacky, and I kept looking at Beth.

How did she know where to go? She legit hasn't tripped yet.

Has she probably walked here before many times?

"Alex, how can you trust these people? What if they are trapping us?" Mitch whispers.

"Don't worry, if they make a dumb move, you know I can fight." I whisper back.

He looks at me, and keeps walking forward.

Suddenly, Jacky stops, and so do we.

"We're here." She says.

I look around, there was NOTHING around, only a few trees.

"Uh, are you sure?" I ask.

She nods and suddenly walked to a tree and pulled something down.

I was confused, until the ground opened, revealing stairs leading down.

"Wow." I say breathlessly.

We walked down the stairs, and we reached the bottom, to reveal many people walking around.

"What is this place?" I ask.

"Alex, welcome to 'The Forgotten Village.'" Jacky says chuckling.
