Oh, Sun! Great One!

19 4 2

The ray of light coming down,

Burning death with a steady crown.

Chasing the rabbits here and there,

It's hot, I'll roast, it's heavenly summer!

The sound of happy children and the old,

Dancing merrily, the young and the bold.

Beaming with joy at the sight of holidays,

Craving for all the work-free days.

The roaring sun with all it's might,

It's impact not lost, even at night.

The trees long for the drops of water

Oh! Summer, just bring your end near...

Dear Sun, have some empathy,

You've given us enough apathy.

But still we rejoice your return again,

When we shall be old, you'll be the same.

But, when you're gone, we regret ourselves,

The brightness and hope, gone nevertheless.

Still, it's a respite for our fellow beings; and

for the flower that blooms in the spring!

Hey, pals! This is a poem on the joys and pains of summer. I wrote it for sending it to the BBC Knowledge magazine. I sent it today... Just hope they like it and publish it in the issue of the coming months.. If it gets published, then I'll read all the works of all my followers!! And vote on them!! :))

All the love,

Nishtha...
