Chapter 21: Lost

I couldn't imagine that this day will come.

Dad locked the door in my room making sure mom is not awake. He makes us both sit down.

I saw him trying to calm himself while absorbing the situation.

I couldn't believe it Chanyeol told his dad about his feelings for me!

Chanyeol and I seated in my couch with a big space in between.

I saw Chanyeol looked at me in my peripheral view and gave a long sigh.

Dad is walking back and forth thinking what he should say.

We're just silent for a moment. None of us spoke. I just saw Chanyeol who is looking down feeling so down.

"Alright. Let's just keep this as a secret from your mom okay? I don't want her to get worried." Dad broke the silence and seated at the chair infront of us.

"Chanyeol..." Dad started trying to find the right words he can say for us to understand what he is trying to portray.

"Uhhh, you-you can't love Steph. I mean.... Yes you can love her but as a sister. You care for her like how you care for your older sister. It's just like that." Dad told Chanyeol and Chanyeol looked up crossing his eyebrows by Dad's words.

"Maybe you're just confused. Because Steph is not your real sister but the truth is you're just feeling the love of being as a brother. You thought it's more than that-"

"No it's not like that Dad. My feelings for her is not as a brother. I don't want her to become my sister. I want to marry her dad. I want her-"

"Oh God! Chanyeol shut up!" Dad blurted out reasoned for me to utter a word.

"Dad, I am really sorry. It's my fault. Please don't get mad at Chanyeol." My tears are now falling again.

"No, it's my fault. I couldn't control my feelings. I kept feeling jealous. I-I pulled her to be with me though she pushed me so many times. I'm sorry." Chanyeol said looking down.

Oh God! Why is he apologizing for me?

"Stop defending each other!" Dad said giving an unbelievable sigh.

"So you mean? Steph doesn't feel the same way?" he continued

"Chanyeol. Please listen to me. Since you're the only feeling like that... I told you maybe you're just confused between brotherly love and romantic love.."

"What? Dad? No! I'm not confused. I know what I feel! Can't you get it? I love her! I love Steph! She can't be my sister! She can't!" Chanyeol kept saying.

"Then forget her! There are a lot of girls out there who likes you! You can go and develop your feelings to them but not with Steph. She will be you sister soon. Real sister. You can't be together. I will marry her mom. I will not sacrifice just for your childish love. Whether you like it or not, Steph's mom will be your stepmother."

"Childish love? Wow! You don't have the right to judge it as a childish love! Then how about your love for my mom? How do you call it? Lust love? Oh Lust is not even love."

My eyes widened when Dad slapped Chanyeol.

"How dare you. I loved your mom Chanyeol. You don't have any idea what I went through when we got divorced." Dad said trying to keep himself calm.

Chanyeol stood up.

"You also don't have any idea how I love Steph dad. Please dad. Let us be together. Just be my Dad. That is what I'm asking to you right now."
