Chapter 27: Marshmallows

"You're so pretty Irene. Omo you two looked good together." I heard my mom's voice from the dining room.

Oh yeah I remember the dinner that my mom organized. I just arrived from work and obviously I don't care about the dinner.

I decided to just go directly to my room without telling them I exist. I just want to be alone and be myself.

But to my dismay, Kai saw me.

"Steph?" Kai said. He came from the comfort room and was about to go back to the dining room.

"You're here already."

Oh right Kai is invited too?

I know Kai is really a good friend to me but I just don't want to give expectations to my mom that we have something though I know Chanyeol's dad wants me to date Kai to forget Chanyeol and that makes me feel bad even more.

"Steph sweetie, you're here already. I told you don't be late. Anyways come here. We are waiting for you." Mom said peeking from the dining room.

"You alright?" Kai asked and I just nod.

"Chanyeol got his memories back right? It was messy at home.." Kai said.

"I'm sorry." I said and Mom called us again to join them.

"Oh Aunt, you're so sweet that's why Uncle fell in love with you." Irene said giving her most prettiest smile.

I couldn't really deny the fact that she is really damn pretty. She is an ulzzang after all.

Dad smiled and held Mom's hands. "Haha. That's just one of the reasons though."

I tried to look at Chanyeol but I just couldn't. I still couldn't take to look at his face.

"You're so pretty too unnie. That's why Chanyeol oppa fell in love with you." Shawee added and I crossed my eyebrows.

"Really? Haha. Well I didn't hear Chanyeol said that to me though." She said and turn her gaze at Chanyeol.

"You already know it. No need." Chanyeol said.

"No Chanyeol, you should tell her that, women like compliments." Mom said.

"It's alright Aunt Sarah, I got used to it. Haha." Irene said.

They are just laughing and talking while I am busy eating my own food.

They don't even know I exist.

"Oh by the way Steph and Kai, how long have you been dating?" Irene suddenly asked that I almost choked.

I realized, it's better for them to ignore my existence than asking me questions like that.

I really don't like it.

"What? Who told you we're dating? We're not!" I immediately responded.

Shit. I sounded defensive. I looked at Chanyeol who is also currently looking at me but he is expressionless.

"Mmmm... in denial." Irene teased.

"Maybe Kai is slow. You should make a move already." Chanyeol suddenly said that make my heart ached.

And now he is pushing me to someone else.

Right, I was the one who told him to pretend that he still didn't remember me.

"I already have. Actually me and Steph have already plans. Right Steph?" Kai looked at me and my eyes widened.

He raised his eyebrows telling me to pretend.
