Most of these I write because I've been assigned it from my creative writing class so here is the prompt just in case you might want to try it!
Prompt- Who are you?
A Girl
I am much more than words.
I am not one to follow others around in herds.
I want adventures
Before I have to sit around in my dentures!
I am happily irked
Signed with a signature gesture, I smirked.
Independent and fiery
A girl who does not have time to reflect in her diary.
Freedom is mine
Fear and excitement combine and entwine.
My head stubborn and my mind set,
My pride vicious and preset.
Jazz running through my veins,
Cleaning up feelings, like after hurricanes.
Messy and unstable,
Unlike a homemade end table.
People always end up curious
As to who I am and why I am, that just makes me furious.
I am a human being, different and deep
Wanting to feel and explore, damnit I'm a white sheep!
I'm smart
But that's not who I am sweetheart.
I am contradicting
Which always leaves me conflicting
Between what I am and what I want
Like those nervous debutantes
Maybe I am simple,
Just the girl with the left dimple.
I am unable to answer who I am
I just can't tell, Madame.
Maybe it's the way I shun society
Not thinking it has much of a variety.
Maybe it's my old soul
Who wants to break free and bowl,
Who only listens to oldies
And boldy
Yells the lyrics at the tops of her lungs when her day has gone wrong
Who does not feel she belongs.
Hoping ,wishing, praying the fifties would swallow her,
Those were the only acceptable times to wear fur.
I often feel like I come from another planet,
With floors of beautiful white granite.
I feel like I stand out
Like I am the water in a drought.
Like I am wanted at first,
But then when they have quenched their thirst
I am just another solved mystery.
I have high expectations,
Leaving me with disappointing congratulations.
I guess I'm just a girl
