Once Maddie was well inside the cave, she set to work. She began to unpack her belongings from the pillow case and laid them out on the dirt. After about half an hour she had put together a sort of bed on the floor made of the few blankets and sheets she had brought with her. Next to that, she had a small pile of berries and nuts she had collected on the way. Exhausted, she sighed and plopped down, then nearly screamed. Above her, protruding from the darkness were of bright green eyes. And they were staring right at her.
