So I've noticed that a few people didn't understand the end and I thought that I'd help clear things up by writing this (a couple of years too late but oh well haha).
Anyway, the reason why I wrote the last chapter the way I did was because I didn't really want to disclose whether they ended up being friends or not after everything that happened. I didn't really want to say whether or not they had a happy ending, because honestly, in real life, happy endings are pretty rare.
I ended it with "I hate you, you liar. If only" simply because it's basically how this story started - the girl forever wishing she hated the boy she clearly loved - and so I decided that it was how I should end it as well.
I don't know if that helped anyone in understanding the end a little more but if you have any other questions don't hesitate to ask :)
