Levi, oh Levi, how you make me feel- Damn it. My heart longs for you like your blades long for blood... Not, that's not right. I try to wrack my brains for an idea.
"Ugh, none of these poems are good enough" I moan, looking down at my trash can full of scrunched up love poems. "How am I going to tell Levi how much I like him?"
"Oh, come on (y/n)! These poems are great!" Hanji cheers supportingly. I groan again and repeatedly slam my face into the desk. "Stop that!" She orders and holds me back from the desk.
"Look Hanji, I really appreciate how supportive you're being but I'd prefer to be alone right now" I sigh sadly. Hanji nods and quietly leaves the room. Oh Levi... Am I ever going to be yours? I'd kill all the titans in the world for you... That's it! I grab a new sheet of paper and sharpen my pencil with my blade. I begin to write out the perfect poem in my neatest handwriting.
Thirty minutes later
All done! I fold up the poem and then put 'To Levi' on the front. I rush out of my door and over to the other building, stopping just outside to pick a rose. Once I reach Levi's door, I knock on it gently. No answer. I knock again but still no answer. I open the door and peek inside, he isn't there. Probably on another mission. I close the door and stick the poem and the rose on it where Levi could see it. I head back to my room and sit on my bed. Now I just have to wait.
Three hours later
"Levi has to be back by now!" I sigh and run over to Levi's office. The note is still stuck to the door and so is the rose, but the leaves appear to be dying. My heart sinks. I suddenly hear footsteps from down the hallway, it's Hanji.
"(y/n)! I've been looking for you everywhere" She pants, gasping for air.
"Sorry, I just went for a walk. By the way, have you seen Levi anywhere" I ask. Hanji's face goes all dull and her eyes drop to the floor.
"That's what I wanted to talk to you about..." She mumbles. I raise an eyebrow, confused. "Levi went on a mission this morning and there was a large titan... A lot of the squad was injured and Levi ordered them to retreat. It was only when they reached the gate did they realise that Levi hadn't come with them"
My hearts stops for a second and tears start rolling down my cheeks.
"Well? Did you go back for him?" I ask, almost shouting.
"It's too dark out there now and too many members of the squad are injured. It's dangerous." She whispers.
"I don't give a shit how dangerous it is! Levi is still out there and it seems that I'm the only one who cares!" I scream. I snatch the poem and the rose and run to the stables. I saddle my horse and we bolt out of the gate. Faint shouting echoes from behind me but I keep going. Rain pours down upon me, making it hard to see around. But I can see a figure. They appear to be lying down, hurt maybe? As I get closer, I realise who it is. "Levi!" I gasp and leap off of my horse's back. I run over to Levi, he is laying on the wet grass which has been stained crimson. "Oh my gosh, Levi what happened?" I cry as I try to find the cause of the bleeding. There is a large gash in Levi's stomach. Without thinking, I rip my cape in half and tie it around his stomach to stop the bleeding. Levi moans in pain and opens his eyes.
"(y/n)?" He mutters, eyes half closed.
"Yes, it's me. I'm here" I sob and pull him up so that his back is leaning on my legs.
"Get out of here... It's dangerous" He groans and cups my cheek in one hand.
"I'm not leaving you" I cry and wipe his wet hair out of his eyes.
"That's an order (y/n), leave" He warns sadly.
"To hell with your orders" I growl and mash my lips against his. Life seems to spring back into Levi as he wraps his arms around my neck and sits up, kissing me back fiercely. I run my fingers through his short, black hair. We ignore the rain pouring down onto us and we don't even flinch at the lightning. After a moment of true bliss, I finally pull away. He looks surprised and sad.
"(y/n), don't pull away" He whispers.
"I have a poem for you" I smile and retrieve the damp, crumpled paper from my pocket and read it to him:
My love burns for you,
Like an ever-raging fire,
You fill my life with excitement,
And my heart with desire
I love you with all my heart,
My passion for you is so strong,
A thousand titans could try to pull us apart,
But I'd still be holding on,
For you,
I'd kill all the titans in the world,
Just to be,
Your special girl.
I don't know whether he was crying or if it was just the rain, flowing down his cold, pale cheeks.
"So what do you think?" I ask proudly. He looks me dead in the eye and then reaches his hand out. He whips the poem from my hand and throws it into the wind. He then pulls my face closer to his and kisses me passionately. His aroma is intoxicating and it is only strengthened by the downfall of rain. He stops, moving his head away so our lips are just a whisper apart.
"I think you're one hell of a writer" He smirks before pulling me back into his warm embrace.
