they exist outside ourselves.
secret families, ana and mia and cat,
projections of the monsters we carry.
we like to think that we are possessed,
that they and us live in different dimensions.
but maybe we just don't want to face the fact
that they, the synthesized demons and the
personified sicknesses, are part of us
in strikingly inseparable ways.
