Marinette adjusted her headpiece once more.
Adrien fixed his tie.
"Okay." Marinette breathed out.
"Ready." Adrien said.
"To a new chapter!" Alya laughed, pouring champagne.
"Here, take this." Nino produced a shot of alcohol.
Marinette's face softened as she drank the bubbly liquid.
Adrien's face scrunched up as he forced down the burning drink.
Marinette stood up.
Adrien nodded, walking out.
They heard applause.
Marinette took a deep breath.
Adrien glanced to his father, who nodded.
Marinette's mother kissed her cheeks, wiping a tear.
Adrien watched the exit carefully, heartbeat picking up.
Alya walked up, swaying slightly on her feet. Nino sighed, grabbing her wrist and taking her away before she could make her way up the aisle.
Marinette approached the big doors.
Adrien could see her silhouette.
The music started. She was walking down the aisle.
Marinette's eyes were trained on her father's arm and she glanced up to see her family members.
Adrien couldn't move his eyes from Marinette's head.
Tom handed her over.
Marinette finally looked up.
Adrien squeezed her hands reassuringly.
