So it's been a month since I realized and accepted my feelings for Malik. Ever since that day I've been trying to put distance between us but it's been rather difficult. Do you know how hard it is to put space between you and someone you've been texting daily? Really hard.
But right now I'm on my way to my doctor's appointment and I get to find out the gender today but since I'm going by myself I don't think I want to know. As weird as it sounds, this is really a moment of excitement I want to share with someone whether it be Malik or Amber. Eff Amber for having work and eff Malik for having practice. Let me not say that because Amber is actually bringing me there she just can't stay.
Before I got ready I took a selfie and sent it to Malik. Don't get the wrong idea he just really likes to be involved with this pregnancy. He's been making sure I'm saving up to get a car and everything else I need for this pregnancy. After sending him the picture I hopped in the shower to get ready.
Malik Pov
Practice had just ended and I was on my way to the locker room. Yes ya boy plays a starting position for the UCLA basketball team and I'm making a name for myself here. The season is about to start and I'm praying that I get scouted. As I took my phone out my locker I realized I got a text from Tahj about an hour ago. When I opened it I saw a picture with the message: 5 months pregnancy slay. Gender reveal day.

And of course my nosy teammate and homeboy since grade school days, Travis, was peaking over my shoulders. "Damn boy I didn't know you had a youngin on the way. Congrats." "If I had a child on the way you think you would just be finding out about this? This is Tahj, the girl I told you about." I swear this boy is out of it for most of the day. "Ohh right the "bestfriend" man I know you gotta have feelings for her." I kept the straightest face so I wouldn't give myself away. It's okay for me to know how I feel but I would be damned if anyone else knew and started talking my business. "Nah man she's just my bestfriend. I'm gonna go."
I headed out the locker room and called Tahj. "Hello baby daddy, you missed the appointment already."
"Yeah yeah yeah I know. What's the news? What's the gender?" I listened in as she nonchalantly answered "Ohh I didn't find out. I either wanted you or Amber to be there with me so we could share the excitement." You see thats what I like about this girl. She thinks about these type of things. I would have never been upset if she found out but just to know that she waited for us made me happy.
"Alright well I'll be there in 90 minutes to take you somewhere so get ready."
After I went home and got cleaned up I found myself pulling up to Tahj's building texting her I'm outside. About 5 minutes later I saw her walking out looking like she was ready to slay half these females out here. "So you're rocking out with the belly out today huh?" "Yessir I am. I woke up feeling really good today but after the appointment it reminded me that I only have 4 months left to get ready and I have so many things left to do."
"Don't worry about it. You've been working 50 hour shifts and mom loves you so I know she's going to give you a lil something extra when your due date is closer. Plus I got you with things as well. But you do know you gotta move out your dorm right?"
"Obviously, with the semester coming to an end it makes no sense for me to stay there so that's an additional expense."
"Not really if Amb would let you stay with here for a little bit then you can live there if you want....or you can live with me instead."
"You're really sweet to suggest that but honestly I don't want to inconvenience you. You have a lot going on and I'm really not trying to be any extra burden."
"I offered and to be honest I wasn't asking you. I'm telling you you're moving in with me. That's why I'm your bestfriend." As I slowly approached a red light I looked over to see her with tears in her eyes. "Shit look I'm sor-"
"I love you. Like forreal you're a better father to this child than the actual father of this child. So don't apologize." She chuckled lightly and stared at me. I could feel her eyes piercing my soul but I couldn't help to look away and I know for sure she couldn't either. I don't know if I was reading the atmosphere properly or not but I leaned in and allowed our lips to connect. I expected her to protest but to my pleasant surprise she didn't, she actually threw in some of her own moves by biting my lip. It was getting real passionate, her hands sliding down my pants reaching the rim of my boxers. I felt one finger stroke me until I heard a loud ass honk.
I pulled back only to realize the light had turned green and I was holding up the line.
"Hey Malik let's go baby shopping then back to your place and we can start setting things up." With the little situation I had growing downstairs I wasn't too sure I was prepped for the mall. But to satisfy her I agreed and made a right in the direction of the mall.

After what felt like hours of shopping I finally made it to the comforts of my own room. "Hey Malik...can we talk?"
"Uhh yeah sure come in."
"It's about what was said on our way to the mall. I don't want to think we're committing to something too fast but at the same time I don't want my pride to be the reason why I fail at properly raising my child and providing for him or her the right way. So if your favor still lies on the table I'll like to accept it."
I looked at her like a deer caught in the headlights. I was expecting her to turn down my offer but to say her accepting my offer shocked me out the ass would be the honest truth. I was too damn happy I couldn't stop smiling from ear to ear and I'm sure my smile is what made her smile even harder. I stood up and scooped her up into a bear hug placing a quick kiss to her cheek.
"Tahj understand I'm seriously here to help you out, so let's go put those things we got today into the spare room, then go get a few things from your place and transport them here. Not going to lie I'm excited to have you all moved in already."
"Malik calm down we can do all that tomorrow, right now all I want to do is vibe with you. Let's get some food, hang out in the living room and watch some movies until we fall asleep. Sounds like a plan shawty?"
"Only shawty here is you and yea sounds like a plan come on." I can't even contain my excitement I'm just happy she decided to stay. I know what my sister told me and everything but I really can't help it. I really have to make her mine soon enough.
