Lost Connection (Chapter 2)~Kiki, Donna and Leona

Garroth's POV

"It's closing time." Logan shoos a bunch of people from his grill. 

I glance outside the window and see that it's sunset, "I can't believe we've been talking for 5 hours straight..." I hear Laurance mutter 

"Agreed." I reply. 

Logan walks over to us. I get up and grab my satchel and wrap on my shoulder. The satchel ends at my waist. 

"No, no... You guys can stay. We close at 8 on the weekdays, but Donna and Kiki come here since their bakery closes at 7:45. You're welcome to stay until we leave." Logan smiles. 

His grill is open until midnight on weekends and on game nights when the Phoenix Drop Flames are playing. I return the gesture, and so does Laurance. 

"Thanks, Logan." I thank.

"No problem, guys." He replies. 

I check the clock, 8:15PM. I got here at 3:00PM, so I guess it's been 5 hours and 15 minutes. I look at Laurance, who's glaring at his phone, then back at the door. I see him furiously texting. I decide to be nosy, so I look over his screen. 'Michi'.

Laurance: We're done, Michi.

Michi: Hmph! Laurance wasn't even a good boyfriend anyway.

Laurance: Go back to Tu'la. The hole you belong in. 😡

Michi: Fine! Michi will. Cuter guys are in Tu'la then Ru'aun.

Laurance: Goodbye.

Laurance goes to Michi's contact and blocks her number, "Are you ok?" I ask as Laurance runs his fingers through his hair, frustrated.

Laurance looks away from his phone, directing his attention to me, "Y-Yea, I'm fine." He replies.

I know it's fake. He still has a small smile on his face when he lies. He's not a good liar, "I know when you're lying." A smirk unintentionally forms on my face. 

Laurance sighs, "My girlfriend and I broke up." He confesses, "She was a demon anyway." Laurance mutters under his breath, not meaning for me to hear it. 

I chuckle anyway. Laurance ignores my chuckle, "Sorry about your breakup." I apologize, trying to be genuine. 

But, if I'm being completely honest, I'm kind of glad that him and his girlfriend broke up. We're both single and my love for him hasn't died down. 

"Do you want to talk about it?" I ask. 

Laurance shakes his head no, "I didn't love her anyway. I dated her out of sympathy." He confesses. 

My eyes widen slightly, "Y'see... My girlfriend and I broke up today as well." I inform. 

"Garroth, I'm so sorry." Laurance apologizes. 

"It's similar to you... I didn't love her. I dated her out of force. She said if I didn't date her, she'd kill Vylad, Zane, Travis and Dante." I inform. 

"Why Travis and Dante?" Laurance questions. 

"Both, Zane and Vylad are gay. Vylad's dating Dante as Travis and Zane are married." I explain. 

"Oh... What was her name? My ex was named Michi if you didn't know." Laurance says. 

"Mine was named Ivy." I reply. 

Laurance nods. We hear a feminine squeal, "Garroth! Laurance!" Donna exclaims. 

Both, Laurance and I look in the direction of Donna's voice. The brunette and red headstand there. 

"Donna! Kiki!" Laurance and I greet at the same time. 

We both get up and hug both of them, "It's been so long!" Kiki says as we release. 

I haven't seen Kiki since Zane's birthday. I can only imagine how long it's been since Laurance has seen either Kiki and Donna. 

"Logan!" Donna exclaims. 

She bolts past us and hugs her husband, "So, Kiki..." I start, "Who's your husband?" I question. 

"I'm actually still single. But, I do have a daughter named Leona." She informs. 

"Who's the father?" Laurance asks, intrigued. 

"I actually.. Uh.. Don't know. She showed up on my doorstep one day with the name 'Leona' stuck onto the basket she came in." Kiki explains. 

"Is she here?" I question. 

"Yep! She worked with Donna and I today. She's in the car-" Kiki starts. 

"I'M HERE!" A girl with black hair, green eyes and gray wolf assets runs in.

"Leona!" Kiki exclaims cheerfully, "Laurance, Garroth, this is my daughter, Leona. Leona, sweetie... These are mommy's old friends, Laurance and Garroth." Kiki introduces. 

"Nice to meet you, misters!" Leona waves, a nice, genuine smile on her face. 

"Hi!" Laurance and I reply at the same time. 

We chuckle, "Time to go, guys!" Logan yells as he walks into the large room full of tables, booths and the bar. 

Logan turns off the neon light surrounding the bar. He turns off all the others lights, then leads us all outside. Donna and Logan drive home as Kiki and Leona leave shortly after. Laurance and I are walking down the street. Once we reach Laurance's car, we look at each other. 

"We should do this again sometime." Laurance says. 

"We should." I reply, a smile on both of our faces. 

Laurance and I exchange goodbyes, then he gets in his car once again.

I hope this time we don't lose contact

at least not again...
