You held the limp paper in your hand, uninterested. The school sent every student a list of this year's clubs.
-Culture Club
-Track
-Football
-Garden Club
-Classical Music Club
-And a bunch more you weren't interested in.
What would you do? Nothing really jumped out at you, putting the piece of paper down on the dresser. What you cared about was the the accompanying piece of white paper. You tucked it into your purse, exiting the dorm.
BUZZ, BUZZ
Are you coming?-Eliza
Be there in ten-_
You traveled down the slope towards town, excitement building up. Bells chimed as you entered the cafe, your friends waiting for you in the back booth.
"Yo dudette!"
You smiled as Alfred slid over, sitting next to him.
"What's up guys?"
Eliza and Feliciano sat across from you.
"Huh? Where's Ludwig and Kiku?"
"Ludwig is still keeping an eye on him. Though he seems to be doing a lot better." Eliza spoke.
"That's good to hear."
"So, you bring it?" Alfred asked, leaning in towards you.
"Looks like someone wants a class with bella." You were surprised to see Felicano teasing Alfred, his face turning a light shade of pink.
"A-am not! Was just curious is all."
"I'm curious too," Eliza said, taking a sip of her water, "We don't exactly spend a lot of time together."
"What? But you live in the same room."
"That's different." You spoke up, "We usually only go to the room when we're going to sleep."
As soon as you brought out the piece of paper Alfred snatched it out of your hands.
"Hey!"
He ignored you, eyes quickly scanning the paper. His face fell.
"What kind of crap classes are these? We don't have a single class together!"
"Really?"
He pouted, handing it over to Eliza who shared it with Feliciano.
"Same here." He spoke, "We didn't have any classes together last year either."
"I don't have classes with any of you?"
"Looks like it." Eliza said, placing the list on the table.
A gloomy mood filled the air.
"This blows." Alfred sighed, looking out the window.
Wow, he really is upset. You didn't think that they cared that much about it.
"Hey, it looks like we still have lunch together."
"Really?" He asked, taking a peek at the list again, "Oh we do! That's awesome." A slight smile was on his lips, eyes shining.
"For the rest of you I promise to come visit you!"
"We'll at least see each other each night."
"What about me bella?"
"I promise I'll come visit you in your club. By the way, which one did you join?"
He scratched his head nervously, "Ah well, Luddy talked me into joining track."
"Track?" Alfred frowned, "We all know football is the best sport."
"So I take it you're still in the team."
"Of course! I'm team captain after all."
"Really?" Wow, team captain and he's not even a senior yet. He sure has his plate full.
"I'll still be in the gardening club. Will you be _?"
"I'm not sure. None of the clubs seemed to interest me."
You were, however, excited about your classes. You managed to get a lot of the mandatory ones out of the way so you could work towards your major. You were a sophomore. Looking back to your sophomore year of high school, you were faring a lot better.
You were studying abroad in a beautiful country, had made tons of friends and were taking the classes of your dreams. Nothing could stand in your way. Not even the attacks. You rarely thought about them now. They were in the past. You had made friends with the ones who had done you wrong (most of them) and were moving forward. You couldn't ask for anything more.
The rest of the evening was spent eating and talking about the upcoming semester. You might even meet some other foreign exchange students. This school didn't lack diversity. People of every race could be found here if you looked. You had broadened your horizons, eternally grateful you chose Precision Academy.
