You wake up and your heart fills with glee
This day was going to be about me
Walking into a room filled with presents
Making me feel like I'm not a peasant
Going to school but you don't want to
Going to school makes you feel blue
My friends know to say happy birthday
And one of them says happy smurf day
People stop and stare
But you don't know they're there
You hope that the day will end soon
But it's not even noon
The day is finally done
It was time to have some fun
Your smiling all the way home
Knowing you won't be alone
You can't wait for your cake
Made from mini cupcakes
You hope to see your best friend
That coming weekend
When the day is all over
You are a year older
It makes your heart flutter
And makes it melt melt like butter
